How will you make an impact?

We are looking for a proactive and self-driven Laboratory Technician for a fixed term position for the period 15.8.2022-31.12.2023 with potential to a permanent position in Production after 1.1.2024. What will you do?

You will be part of the Molecular Food Protection team, with up to 35 other members, responsible for designing and developing new molecular diagnostic products to complement the current microbiology product range, and production and support of these products.

Your work will include manufacturing and quality control of Food Protection molecular products (reagents related to DNA extraction and qPCR) and conducting molecular experiment work on the enhancement of Molecular Food Protection manufacturing processes. You will conduct molecular and microbial methods such as sample preparation, real-time PCR experiments, analyze results and maintain instruments and laboratory. You are expected to contribute by thinking through issues related to laboratory work. You are well-organized and able to maintain formal laboratory and manufacturing records. You enjoy working with high technology products and want to develop yourself and the way of working.

How will you get here?

  • >1 years relevant experience of working in laboratory and/or production environment
  • Solid knowledge of real-time PCR and molecular methods
  • Knowledge of basic microbiological techniques and methods
  • Good computer skills and experience in MS Office package

Job description 

In this Geneticist position, you will have the opportunity to work with an experienced and motivated geneticist team that places great value in high-class clinical interpretation. We have a diverse genetic testing portfolio, including over 220 panels across 14 medical specialties, whole exome sequencing, approximately 3,900 single genes, and targeted variant analysis 

Your daily work will entail analyzing the genetic data with our in-house developed interpretation tool and writing the test results into high-quality written statements. Interpretation of the data requires the use of several databases, genetic tools, and understanding of how the clinical history of the patient matches with the findings. In more challenging cases, you are supported by a group of clinical consultants in various medical specialties. 

What we expect from you

Our ideal candidate has: 

  • PhD in Genetics or Molecular Medicine (or equivalent), or Clinical Laboratory Geneticist degree in Clinical Molecular Genetics / Laboratory Genetics and Genomics 
  • Excellent understanding of human genetics, inheritance models and inherited human diseases, and the ability to understand medical terminology and learn clinical aspects of the diseases 
  • Uncompromised attention to detail. In practice this means that an analytical, critical and systemic approach, as well as ability to follow rules, is needed to maintain coherent variant classifications throughout the team and the high quality of the reports.  
  • Excellent verbal and written skills in English are a necessity

    Additional valued assets:  
  • Knowledge of current genomic information and variant databases, in addition to experience in NGS methods 
  • Research or clinical experience in interpreting genetic test results utilizing NGS, Sanger sequencing and other methods 
  • Experience in whole exome analysis

Your Tasks

  • In your role you are focused on field- and office-based, post-sale technical support to all QIAGEN customers and are responsible for on-site repairs, installations, customer training, education and/or troubleshooting on QIAGEN instrumentation, including consumables and applications in all markets as well as coordinating with other internal departments to optimize protocols or aid in experimental design.

Your Profile

  • You bring a M.Sc. or Ph.D. degree in molecular biology or genomics
  • You have an extensive practical/laboratory experience of the most frequently used techniques, or at least 2 years as a technical service or field service specialist within a relevant market sector
  • Your are known for your experience with diagnostic equipment technologies and applications; experience with CRM programs and web-based tools to retrieve and analyze data is a plus
  • You are a self-starter with the ability to handle and manage multiple tasks in a result-orientated commercial environment and are fluent in English and Finnish; fluency in another European language is a plus.
  • You like to travel (70%) and bring a valid driver´s license and passport

The selected candidate will play a key role in the design and selection of new innovative large molecule drug candidates and will support the development of such candidates towards first in human clinical studies. Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

Supports the early CMC development of drug candidates including:

The job:

We are looking for a Senior Technical Sales Specialist (TSS) to grow our Protein Biology business across Nordic Countries (Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland). Job responsibilities;

Qualifications

What we’re looking for;

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) level of qualification in life sciences, Medicine, Pharmacy, Nursing or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Good Clinical Practice/ICH guidelines, regulatory requirements, drug development process and clinical monitoring procedures.
  • Clinical research organization (CRO) and relevant therapeutic experience preferred.

Brief Description:

The role of the Nordic Key Account Manager (KAM) is to maximise the full sales potential of the Haematology/Oncology (H/O) product portfolio in the Nordics, achieving sales and related performance targets (as defined by the management team). This will be achieved through coordination and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the appropriate patients have access to Jazz Pharmaceuticals H/O products. Developing professional working partnerships with relevant stakeholders to positively influence sales potential, future guidelines, funding, positioning of products and ensure effective implementation of peer to peer/advocacy programs.

The Nordic KAM will take full accountability for the preparation and execution of strong territory business and key account management plans as agreed with the management team, fully utilizing agreed processes and procedures.

Essential Functions

  • Deliver sales and related objectives against targets
  • Develop a partnership relationship with KOLs and stakeholders by being an expert in the Jazz Pharmaceuticals products and relevant disease areas as well as local/regional and national healthcare policy as appropriate
  • Build customer networks that enable the rapid identification, diagnosis and treatment of patients
  • Collaborate with market access on local and national reimbursement
  • In close cooperation with the H/O Brand Manager; medical affairs and your manager develop, implement, and review cross-functional country and key account business plans for H/O Nordics which are aligned with the Nordic strategy and the H/O brand strategy plans. The plans are to be endorsed by the GM and the H/O Brand Manager.
  • Monitor and evaluate performance against business plan and deliver within agreed matrix of activity (effective account call coverage and frequency) and budget (appropriate use of promotional spend) as agreed with the manager
  • Work with medical, market access and marketing to enable customer access to Jazz Pharmaceuticals support programmes e.g., educational events, relevant symposia, peer to peer programmes
  • Identify and capture opportunities for business growth e.g., key account potential, new projects or added value services
  • Profiling (and regular updating of) key customers and accounts into currently available CRM system
  • Accurate and timely reporting of customer and business records, through CRM system, using agreed performance measures
  • Willingness and ability to assist with ad hoc business projects as defined and directed by the GM and/or the manager
  • Behave ethically, responsibly, and professionally in accordance with Jazz Pharmaceuticals values and Nordic codes of practices

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Previous knowledge and experience of disease area essential
  • Previous speciality pharmaceutical sales experience ideally with a proven track record in H/O or orphan disease area in at least one of the Nordic countries. Preferably outside of Denmark.
  • Genuine interest in working across borders and with Nordic HCPs
  • Experience in working cross-functionally; self-starter with a strong sense of personal accountability as well as the ability to work in a cross-functional team in a dynamic environment.
  • Efficient and skilled in working digitally with customer engagement
  • Proven track record in negotiating and influencing within a healthcare setting to deliver agreed and measurable objectives
  • Effective and persuasive communicator with excellent presentation skills
  • Ability to access funding for new and existing drugs, with a demonstrable understanding of funding processes
  • Advanced account management skills that demonstrate business acumen and an innovative approach to projects and solutions that bring added value to Jazz Pharmaceuticals and other stakeholders
  • Experience in working with appropriate partners on joint projects that deliver benefits to all stakeholders, in particular patients

Required/Preferred Education and Licenses

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Fully valid driving license
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (In English and one of the Scandinavian languages)

Description of Physical Demands

  • Responsibilities may require working outside of “normal” hours, in order to meet business demands.
  • The size of the Nordics will necessitate appropriate management of travel requirements to ensure coverage of customers.
