We are looking a fearless science enthusiast to build future solutions. Someone who provides scientific expertise on the identification, assessment and early development of new technologies and applications in areas of future growth for PerkinElmer’s business segments, with a focus on molecular biology, biomarker research, and detection technologies. Drives internal and external research collaborations, working closely with segment R&D teams. Promotes internal innovation by connecting experts across PerkinElmer and fosters connections to external experts and collaborators.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Conduct research activities to create and evaluate proof of concepts.
  • Plan independently and/or as part of a team laboratory experiments.
  • Participate to innovation activities.
  • Develop internal research methodology.
  • Work with field application specialists to identify unmet customer needs and explore potential solutions.
  • Manage internal exploratory research projects, in alignment with segment R&D´s.
  • Execute external research collaborations with academic, startup and industry partners.
  • Monitor academic publications and commercial innovations for novel technologies in the life science space which could become relevant to PerkinElmer.
  • Encourage and support innovation contributions from all PerkinElmer employees by contributing content to the Innovation Portal, assessing internal innovation proposals, and coaching in-house innovators.

Basic Qualifications

  • You have master’s degree in biotechnology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or similar.
  • You are a true science enthusiast and a fast learner.
  • Writing should be natural for you as you will write abstracts and participate to writing scientific publications, patent applications and literature reviews.
  • Working language English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Comprehensive lab/technology experience.
  • Knowledge of molecular biology, biomarker research and detection technologies.
  • Experience on managing collaboration projects.
  • > 2 years experience.

The Customer Support Team consists of top professionals aiming to provide high-level technical support to our customers and field personnel globally. We are now looking to strengthen the team with another skilled professional, with focus on our NIPT system support. The position can be located either in Turku, Finland or Sollentuna Sweden.

Role Description

  • Provides advanced level technical and application support for PerkinElmer diagnostic products (instruments, kits and software) to customers and to the field sales personnel
  • Trains diagnostic technologies in theory and applications to customers and field sales personnel, and develops training materials
  • Performs hands-on work in the customer support laboratory and troubleshooting at customer sites
  • Global traveling

Role Requirements

  • Ph.D. or Master’s in Molecular Biology, Chemistry or Biochemistry
  • Knowledge on Genetics and hands-on experience with NIPT system preferred
  • Customer focused problem solver mindset, strong project and time management skills
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional environment
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills in English, other language skills are considered as an advantage
  • Willingness to travel up to 60 %
  • Be part of the Global remote on-call support team.
  • Eagerness to help customers, experience in customer service is considered as a great advantage
  • Excellent training skills or willingness to develop those
  • Flexibility and readiness to develop own skills constantly
  • Positive mindset
  • Ability to work under pressure and stress and maintain a cool and focused mentality on site.
