The Position

Are you a service engineer with an interest in the healthcare field and doing what patients need next? Roche are looking for a Technical Support Specialist to join our technical expert team. Roche serves their customers in almost all hospitals and other healthcare facilities in Finland in which clinical laboratory analyses are conducted. As a service engineer, you are an extremely important part of our expert services, and your task is to maintain the production of our customer laboratories.

In this role, you will work in Roche’s field service team, responsible for instrument installations, scheduled maintenance, repairs, and instrument modifications. The role requires travel, as work is performed in customers’ laboratories.

Key Responsibilities:

  • You install, service, maintain, and troubleshoot diagnostic laboratory systems.
  • You collaborate with cross-functional teams internally to deliver comprehensive solutions.
  • You foster strong relationships with our international divisions to drive success.
  • You engage in customer meetings to understand their needs and provide exceptional service.

Who You Are:

  • You have an educational background in laboratory, health technology, biotechnology, automation technology, or mechanical engineering.
  • You have basic knowledge of IT, network structures and common operating systems.
  • You have a driving license and an interest in traveling.
  • You are good at customer management and team work. 
  • You are fluent in Finnish and English.

Previous experience in a similar role will be considered an advantage, allowing for a smoother transition and quicker contribution to our team.

The Customer Support Team consists of top professionals aiming to provide high-level technical support to our customers and field personnel globally. We are now looking to strengthen the team with another skilled professional, with focus on our NIPT system support. The position can be located either in Turku, Finland or Sollentuna Sweden.

Role Description

  • Provides advanced level technical and application support for PerkinElmer diagnostic products (instruments, kits and software) to customers and to the field sales personnel
  • Trains diagnostic technologies in theory and applications to customers and field sales personnel, and develops training materials
  • Performs hands-on work in the customer support laboratory and troubleshooting at customer sites
  • Global traveling

Role Requirements

  • Ph.D. or Master’s in Molecular Biology, Chemistry or Biochemistry
  • Knowledge on Genetics and hands-on experience with NIPT system preferred
  • Customer focused problem solver mindset, strong project and time management skills
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional environment
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills in English, other language skills are considered as an advantage
  • Willingness to travel up to 60 %
  • Be part of the Global remote on-call support team.
  • Eagerness to help customers, experience in customer service is considered as a great advantage
  • Excellent training skills or willingness to develop those
  • Flexibility and readiness to develop own skills constantly
  • Positive mindset
  • Ability to work under pressure and stress and maintain a cool and focused mentality on site.
  • Sense of urgency
