Ruokavirastossa on haettavana korkeakouluharjoittelijan (tutkija/tutkimusanalyytikko) paikka orgaanisten jäämien jaostossa.
Tehtävät liittyvät lääkeainejäämämenetelmän validointiin sisältäen eläinperäisten näytteiden esikäsittelyn, näytteiden analysoinnin LC-MS/MS laitteella sekä tulosten raportointia.
Tämä tehtävä liittyy hallituksen tavoitteeseen palkata vuoden 2026 aikana 500 nuorta uusiin määräaikaisiin palvelussuhteisiin kausityöntekijöiksi ja korkeakouluharjoittelijoiksi. Tehtävät on tarkoitettu erityisesti ensimmäistä työpaikkaa valtiolta hakeville 18-25-vuotiaille henkilöille.

Tehtävään valittavalta odotamme soveltuvaa korkeakoulututkintoa tai loppuvaiheessa olevia opintoja (esimerkiksi kemian alalta). Tehtävässä tarvitaan kemiallisen analytiikan tuntemusta.
Eduksi katsotaan aikaisempi kokemus biologisten näytteiden analytiikasta, analyysimenetelmien validoinnista sekä nestekromatografiasta ja/tai massaspektrometriasta.

Haemme Lapinlahden aluelaboratorioon projektityöntekijää määräaikaiseen työsuhteeseen ajalle 1.9.2026-31.8.2027 (tai aloitus sopimuksen mukaan).
Valio Oy Lapinlahden aluelaboratorio toimii Lapinlahden tehtaan yhteydessä. Laboratoriossa työskentelee noin 25 henkilöä sekä kemiallisen että mikrobiologisen laadunvalvonnan parissa. Palvelemme Lapinlahden lisäksi myös muita Valion toimipaikkoja.
Määräaikaisen työsuhteen työtehtäviin kuuluvat projektiluonteiset kehitystyöt laboratorioanalytiikan parissa kuten laitteiden käyttöönottamiseen liittyviä tehtäviä, verifiointien suunnittelua, verifiointien toteutusta, tulosten käsittelyä sekä raportointia. Lisäksi työtehtäviin kuuluu näytteiden analysointia kemian työpisteissä, alkaen näytteiden kirjaamisesta tietojärjestelmiin ja päättyen tulosten raportointiin. Åbo Akademi University invites applications for a fixed-term position as Research Technician for the period 1.9.2026-31.12.2028. The position is located in the Cell Fate Lab, led by Professor Cecilia Sahlgren at the Biochemistry and Cell Biology unit, Faculty of Science and Engineering in Turku, Finland. The employment is full-time.
WORK TASKS
As a Research Technician, you will support the everyday work of the Cell Fate Lab members (approx. 15 researchers and students), manage the infrastructure of the laboratory used also by collaborating researchers, and assist with scientific experimentation.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Maintain lab stocks and consumables: ordering, receiving, inventory/expiry tracking, freezer/fridge organization.
- Prepare routine reagents (buffers, media, and standard solutions); aliquot and label.
- Prepare DNA reagents: bacterial work as needed, plasmid preparation and sequencing.
- Manage chemicals and safety: chemical inventory/SDS, correct storage/labelling, waste handling.
- Perform and support cell culture (passaging, freezing/thawing, mycoplasma monitoring, sterile technique).
- Support viral work as needed (e.g., lentiviral production/handling).
- Contribute to routine experiments: western blotting, microscopy samples, and general cell biology lab assays.
- Support team operations: help train new lab members and visitors in lab-specific technologies, basic procedures and maintain a well-functioning lab environment.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Essential qualifications
- Educational level, such as a vocational laboratory assistant or laboratory technician degree; a polytechnic biomedical laboratory scientist, laboratory analyst, or laboratory services degree; or a MSc degree in the field of biosciences.
- Familiarity with MS office programs and the related environment.
- Hands-on experience in cell biology / molecular biology methods, with strong sterile technique.
- Proven competence in mammalian cell culture and cell culture models.
- Competence in core methods: buffer/media prep, plasmid prep, immunofluorescence samples, agarose gels, SDS-PAGE/western blotting.
- Strong safety and compliance mindset (chemical handling, waste, documentation).
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, including fluent written and spoken communication in English.
Desirable attributes
- High organisational reliability (inventory control, labelling, record keeping).
- Experience of the use or manufacture of advanced in vitro platforms (e.g., microfluidics, chip microfabrication, 3D printing, organoids, stretchers).
- Experience with primary cells (eg primary vascular cells).
- Experience producing/using viral vectors (e.g., lentivirus) and working under BSL-2 conditions.
- Familiarity with gene manipulation workflows (e.g., CRISPR/siRNA).
SALARY AND CONDITIONS
The salary is determined by the collective agreement system of Finnish universities, aligning with the salary chart for expert and other personnel. The salary levels for a Research Technician are set at MV06-MV07. The average monthly salary, depending on previous experience and skills, is typically around 2 640 – 2 850 euros at the beginning of the employment.
The weekly working hours for full-time employees are 36 hours and 15 minutes.

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Technician / Laboratory Manager to join our collaborative, multidisciplinary research team. Our work focuses on understanding aging-related genetic changes in blood cells and their roles in immunology and cancer development. We integrate large population-level cohort analyses with cutting-edge genome editing and single-cell approaches in cell lines and in patient samples.
The research group is led by Mikko Myllymäki, MD, PhD and our research group is located at the Institute for Molecular Medicine Finland (FIMM), University of Helsinki. We are also part of the Translational Immunology Research Program within the Faculty of Medicine.
The successful candidate will join a translational research environment integrating genetics, immunology, cell biology, bioinformatics, and clinical medicine.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform and support routine wet-lab work (such as DNA and RNA based workflows, protein-based workflows, genotyping)
• Culture and maintain leukemia cell lines and induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs)
• Assist with sample logistics for single-cell workflows
• Coordinate laboratory reagent orders, maintain sample inventories, and take care of documentation
Comprehensive training will be provided for all techniques and responsibilities.

The salary is based on the job requirement scheme for specialist and support staff in the salary system of Finnish universities, plus a personal performance component. The typical starting gross salary for comparable UH laboratory/research technician roles is approximately €2,600–€3,200/month (depending on duties and experience).

Haemme nyt Turun tuotantolaitoksen mikrobiologiseen laadunvalvontalaboratorioon kahta henkilöä määräaikaiseen työhön 30.12.2026 asti Laboratory Technician -tehtäviin.
TEHTÄVÄSI JA VASTUUALUEESI
• Tehtäviisi kuuluvat laboratoriossa tehtävät laadunvalvonta-analyysit, mm. mikrobiologiset epäpuhtausmääritykset ja vesianalytiikka
• Otat mikrobiologisia ja partikkelinäytteitä puhdastiloista ja raportoit tuloksista
• Työskentely tapahtuu puhdastiloissa
• Lisäksi osallistut laboratorion ylläpitotehtäviin
• Työ on päivätyötä ja siinä noudatetaan liukuvaa työaikaa
SINÄ
• Sinulla on tehtävään soveltuva koulutus (esim. laboratorioalan perustutkinto, bio- tai elintarviketekniikan insinööri) tai työkokemusta vastaavista tehtävistä
• Odotamme sinulta huolellista ja järjestelmällistä työskentelytapaa sekä yhteistyökykyä
• Suunnittelet ja organisoit työsi itsenäisesti ohjeita noudattaen
• Aikaisemman kokemuksen mikrobiologisista analyyseistä luemme eduksi
• Laboratoriotyöskentely edellyttää normaalia fyysistä kuntoa (työ sisältää pitkäkestoisesti staattisia asentoja ja jonkin verran toistotyötä)
• Toimiessamme vahvasti säädellyllä ja ohjeistetulla toimialalla pystyt omaksumaan ohjeiden ja määräysten sisällön ja viestit sekä kommunikoit sujuvasti suomen kielellä. Hallitset myös perusasiat englanniksi

BioCity Turku is a joint biocentre which links the University of Turku and Åbo Akademi University to support and coordinate life science and molecular medicine related research in the Turku region. The BioCity Turku community currently comprises more than 140 research groups and over one thousand researchers.
Turku Bioscience Centre is a joint institute of University of Turku and Åbo Akademi University responsible for significant core facility resources that are accessible to all BioCity Turku users, companies and academic users from other universities (https://bioscience.fi). In addition, both universities and BioCity Turku umbrella have significant core facility resources related to protein production, protein chemistry, protein interaction studies and biophysical protein analysis. To maximally utilize these resources, a one-stop-shop open access platform Turku Protein Core (TuProtCore) was established (https://turkuproteincore.utu.fi). TuProtCore is governed by a steering committee composed of expert representatives from all major departments and faculties from both universities contributing to the activities.
We are now hiring a Research Infrastructure focused laboratory engineer. The work includes laboratory work related to maintenance and customer-related protocol development, as well as basic protein production, and protein interaction analysis services. The duties also include education of the potential users about the available TuProtCore services and other customer service tasks as well as some administrative tasks. We are therefore looking for a person with solid background on protein chemistry and/or protein analysis technologies, but also a customer-oriented attitude to serve the customer base and to develop the services. The position is based at the Turku Bioscience Centre (https://bioscience.fi)
Essential qualifications
- Master degree in biosciences or in other relevant discipline
- Solid hands-on experience in protein chemistry and/or protein analytics technologies, especially in recombinant protein production and analysis
- Strong communication skills in English as well as proven interpersonal and networking skills

Salary and trial period
The salary is determined in accordance with the university salary system for other personnel. The position has regular working hours and uses a time card (clock-in system) on a daily basis.The job requirement level of the position is MV08 – MV09. In addition, a salary component based on personal work performance is paid. Gross salary, based on previous experience and skills, is approximately 3100 – 3600 euros/month at the beginning of the assignment.
The start of the employment is negotiable, preferably by May-June 2026. The position is fixed-term for 1,5 years, with a possibility for extension depending on the funding decisions. The position is subject to a six-month trial period.

Position Summary
The Head of Research & Development for MBD is a high-impact global R&D leadership role focused on advancing innovation and driving strategic goals across clinical, food, and pharmaceutical microbiology markets. Reporting to the Division President, this role is part of the MBD Leadership Team, the corporate R&D extended leadership team, and the divisional Growth Board. The position requires extensive experience in new product development, cross-functional team leadership, and aligning R&D strategy with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
