The Position
Are you a service engineer with an interest in the healthcare field and doing what patients need next? Roche are looking for a Technical Support Specialist to join our technical expert team. Roche serves their customers in almost all hospitals and other healthcare facilities in Finland in which clinical laboratory analyses are conducted. As a service engineer, you are an extremely important part of our expert services, and your task is to maintain the production of our customer laboratories.
In this role, you will work in Roche’s field service team, responsible for instrument installations, scheduled maintenance, repairs, and instrument modifications. The role requires travel, as work is performed in customers’ laboratories.
Key Responsibilities:
- You install, service, maintain, and troubleshoot diagnostic laboratory systems.
- You collaborate with cross-functional teams internally to deliver comprehensive solutions.
- You foster strong relationships with our international divisions to drive success.
- You engage in customer meetings to understand their needs and provide exceptional service.
Who You Are:
- You have an educational background in laboratory, health technology, biotechnology, automation technology, or mechanical engineering.

The role
In your role as a laboratory analyst/technician, your work is to skilfully and precisely perform laboratory experiments related to gene technology, microbiology, enzyme analytics, and automation. The daily tasks would include e.g. production of enzymes in fungal platform, analysis of laboratory scale cultivations and documentation of the results. We expect you to adhere to our agreed high standards and HSE practices.
The position is a permanent and located in Rajamäki, Finland.
About you
You hold a Bachelor´s degree from University of Applied Sciences or a technician´s degree and have hands-on skills in molecular biology methods (PCR, DNA extraction etc.) and microbiology methods, especially using bacteria or fungi. Laboratory experience in enzyme or other biotechnology industry is a clear asset. We are expecting a pragmatic and independent working style with the ability to prioritize and organize individual tasks for efficient throughput. We are looking for a reliable team player and value a high level of responsibility and accountability, as well as a willingness to further develop your skills. Good written and verbal communication skills in English are essential. Finnish language skills are considered as an advantage.

Me Clevrylla etsimme asiakkaallemme, NG Nordicille, Laboratory Techniciania heidän Riihimäen tuotantolaitokselleen. Tehtävä on kokoaikainen ja tulet työllistymään Clevryn kautta NG Nordicille määräaikaiseen, vuoden kestävään työsuhteeseen. Tehtävässä on hyvät mahdollisuudet jatkoon tämän jälkeen. Laboratorioteknikkona työskentelet osana liiketoimintaa, joka keskittyy tapoihin ja menetelmiin luoda jätteestä materiaaleja. Työssäsi suunnittelet ja toteutat kokeita eri biologisilla prosesseilla NG Nordicin laboratoriossa Riihimäellä. Osana tehtävänkuvaasi valvot myös aerobisia ja anaerobisia fermentaatioreaktoreita, keräät näytteitä ja teet erilaisia laboratorioanalyysejä. Tässä roolissa pääset osaltasi vaikuttamaan puhtaampaan energiaan, sillä työsi myötä jätteenpoltosta peräisin olevat CO2-päästöt kierrätetään ja muutetaan fossiilivapaiksi materiaaleiksi ja raaka-aineiksi.
Työskentelet osana dynaamista organisaatiota eri taustojen ja kokemuksen asiantuntijoiden kanssa. The Functional Cancer Genomics group led by Dr. Sakari Vanharanta at the Translational Cancer Medicine Program, Faculty of Medicine, University of Helsinki, Finland, invites applications for the position of
LABORATORY TECHNICIAN
The aim of our research is to understand how cancer mutations activate oncogenic programs and how these programs lead to cancer progression and metastasis, with the long-term goal of translating this knowledge into novel therapeutic approaches and patient benefit. We are looking for a laboratory technician to participate in our scientific efforts and to help manage the day-to-day activities of a research laboratory. The tasks will consist of laboratory management and experimental work. The responsibilities will also include supervision of other members of the team.
The Functional Cancer Genomics group consists of biomedical scientists with diverse backgrounds and expertise. We have strong international connections and work in a collaborative manner towards shared goals. After eight years at the University of Cambridge, the team is moving to Helsinki, and will be located at Biomedicum Helsinki within the Academic Medical Center Helsinki, which provides a multidisciplinary research environment for basic and translational research with state-of-the-art facilities, cutting-edge technologies and synergistic expertise of several research groups.
A successful candidate has a higher vocational diploma or a master’s degree in molecular biology, biotechnology or equivalent. Excellent skills in basic molecular biology techniques and experience in culturing cancer cell lines is mandatory. Experience with laboratory animal work is considered an advantage. An ability to work independently and with precision is essential. Successful implementation of your tasks will require technical precision, independent problem-solving ability, excellent communication and organizational skills and the capability for teamwork.
The position is available as soon as the selected candidates are available. The project allows initially a three-year fixed-term position. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience based on the University guidelines.
