The Research Assistant’s / Project Researcher’s tasks will be processing and analyzing of research data, reporting research results in scientific journals, and tasks supporting research.

Eligibility requirement for the position is knowledge of handling medical data and image processing, programming skills, experience of applying artificial intelligence in real-world data, and fluent English language skill. Experience in analysing of medical images, cardiovascular research and machine learning involving coding is an advantage.

Salary and trial period
The salary is determined in accordance with the University salary system for teaching and research personnel. Project Researcher´s salary will be based on demand levels 2-4, where the task-specific salary component is 2 281,48-2 844,66 euros per month. In addition, a personal work performance component will be paid.
A three (3) month trial period may apply to the position.

Valtakunnallinen PET-keskus hakee 1-2 väitöskirjatutkijaa tai projektitutkijaa määräaikaiseen tehtävään alkaen syksyllä 2024 (tarkka aloituspäivä sovittavissa) ja päättyen 31.12.2028.
Haemme tutkijaa hankkeeseemme, jossa kartoitetaan positroniemissiotomografian ja toiminnallisen magneettikuvantamisen avulla aivojen ja muun kehon tunnesilmukoiden toimintaa. Hanketta johtaa prof. Lauri Nummenmaa ja sitä rahoittaa Euroopan tiedeneuvosto (ERC).
Tehtävänkuvaus
Väitöskirjatutkijan / projektitutkijan tehtäviin kuuluu PET- ja MRI tutkimusten tekeminen, tutkimusaineistojen analysoiminen ja niiden raportoiminen. Lisäksi tehtäviin kuuluu laboratorion digitaalisten tietovarantojen ylläpidossa avustaminen.
Etsimämme henkilö
Etsimme henkilöä, joka on kiinnostunut kokeellisesta PET- tai MRI-kuvantamisesta, kognitiivisesta ja affektiivisesta neurotieteestä tai psykiatrisesta kuvantamisesta. Hakijoilta edellytetään maisterin tutkintoa soveltuvalta alalta (esimerkiksi lääketiede, tekniikka, luonnontieteet tai psykologia). Hyvä kirjallinen ja suullinen englannin kielen taito on välttämätön. Etsimällämme henkilöllä on kyky itsenäiseen tutkimustyöhön sekä koehenkilöiden kanssa työskentelemiseen, valmiudet opetella kuvantamisaineistojen käsittelemistä sekä perustiedot tutkimusaineiston tilastollisesta analyysista ja tieteellisestä kirjoittamisesta. Kyky työskennellä suuressa kansainvälisessä tutkimusryhmässä on myös välttämätön.
Lisäksi väitöskirjatutkijalta edellytetään korkeakoulututkinnon suorittamisen yhteydessä tai muutoin osoitettua kykyä ja motivoitumista jatko-opintoihin ja tohtorintutkinnon suorittamiseen tutkimussuunnitelman mukaisesti.
Mikäli tehtävään valittavalla ei ole tohtorintutkinnon opinto-oikeutta tehtävään valittaessa, tehtävä täytetään nimikkeellä projektitutkija.

Palkka määräytyy yliopistojen palkkausjärjestelmän (YPJ) opetus- ja tutkimushenkilöstön vaativuustason OV02 mukaisesti, jolloin tehtäväkohtainen palkka on 2 225,83 €/kk. Tehtäväkohtaisen palkanosan lisäksi maksetaan henkilökohtaiseen suoriutumiseen perustuvaa palkanosaa. Kokoaikaisesti työskentelevän väitöskirjatutkijan/projektitutkijan aloituspalkka on työsuhteen alussa noin 2 400-2 600 euroa/kk, riippuen aiemmasta kokemuksesta ja osaamisesta.

Kansainvälinen tutkimusryhmämme työskentelee professori Riitta Lahesmaan johdolla Turun Biotiedekeskuksessa BioCity-rakennuksessa Turussa. Etsimme kahta motivoitunutta tutkijaa projekti- tai väitöskirjatyöhön.
Häiriöt immuunijärjestelmässä ja lymfosyyttien toiminnassa johtavat immuunivälitteisiin sairauksiin ja syöpään. Projektimme valottaa immuunivälitteisten sairauksien taustalla vaikuttavia molekyylimekanismeja ja luo pohjaa uusien hoitostrategioiden luomiselle.
Tutkimusryhmämme tavoitteena on ymmärtää ihmisen immuunijärjestelmän säätelymekanismeja, jotta immuunivälitteisiä sairauksia voidaan ennustaa, hoitaa tai kokonaan estää. Tutkimme T solujen epigeneettistä ja transkriptionaalista säätelyä ja immuunivälitteisten sairauksien kuten tyypin 1 diabeteksen molekyylimekanismeja. Projektissa 1. tutkitaan löytämiemme uusien pitkien ei-koodaavien RNA-molekyylien merkitystä ihmisen T solujen erilaistumisessa, autoimmuunisairauksissa ja syövässä. Projektissa 2. tutkitaan yhdessä Orion Pharman tutkijoiden kanssa mitkä molekyylimekanismit johtavat T-solujen uupumiseen syövässä. Molemmissa projekteissa käytetään laajalti erilaisia menetelmiä kuten yksisolugenomiikkaa ja massasytometriaa, proteomiikkaa ja CRISP-Cas9 yhdessä laskennallisten työkalujen kanssa.

The University of Eastern Finland is inviting applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher / Project Researcher / Early Stage Researcher (Translational Immunology) position in Kuopio. Role and salary
As our new Postdoctoral, Project or Early Stage Researcher in Translational Immunology, you will be working in the School of Medicine at the Faculty of Health Sciences, Kuopio Campus.
Our research focuses on the immunological disturbances preceding human type 1 diabetes, with a special emphasis on CD4+ T cells. We utilize state-of-the art single cell methodology to study clinical samples from individuals at different stages of type 1 diabetes autoimmunity.
The successful candidate will work on a project funded by the Academy of Finland aiming to analyse CD4+ T cell phenotypic alterations related to autoimmunity in type 1 diabetes. The candidate may also participate in collaborative projects studying cellular immune responses in patients with juvenile idiopathic arthritis and in patients undergoing immune checkpoint inhibitor therapy for cancers.
The position will be filled for a two-year term from 1 August 2021 (or as agreed) due to it pertaining to a specific project. Positions of Early Stage Researchers shall always be filled for a fixed term. A probationary period is applied to all new members of the staff.
The salary of the position is determined in accordance with the salary system of the Finnish universities. The salary comprises two components: a job requirement component and a personal performance component. For a Postdoctoral Researcher / Project Researcher, the job requirement component is 3,000.49 euros/month, based on level 5 of the job requirement chart for teaching and research staff. We are seeking for a Postdoctoral Researcher/Project Researcher to join the Academy of Finland funded project studying ‘SUMOylation-regulated chromatin protein networks in transcription factor-directed cellular differentiation’ led by Professor Jorma Palvimo.
The project investigates how SUMOylation, an intriguing nuclear post-translational modification, regulates networks of chromatin proteins during transcription factor-directed cellular differentiation and reprogramming. The project utilizes genome- and proteome-wide approaches with cell models. The project also investigates the chromatin SUMOylation in the context of glucocorticoid resistance in leukemia cells.
The position will be filled for a three-year term starting from 1 June 2021, or later by agreement. The position will be filled for a fixed term due to it pertaining to a specific project. Job is a full-time position.
A probationary period is applied to all new members of the staff.
The salary of the position is determined in accordance with the salary system of the Finnish universities. We are seeking a part-time (50%) researcher with experience in bioinformatics to join the team of Professor Jukka Westermarck at Turku Bioscience Centre. The project is focused on predicting drug responses in cancer cells based on the existing multiomics data. The main task is to process and analyze different sequencing data (including transcriptomics, proteomics and genetics), and based on this to predict drug responses. Experimental validation of cell lines is also included.
Essential qualifications

Salary

Duration of the contract
