Biopallo Systems Oy on innovatiivinen ja kasvava yritys, joka keskittyy orgaanisten jätteiden, sivuvirtojen ja muiden biomassojen käsittelyteknologiaan ja siihen liittyviin biologisiin ratkaisuihin. Etsimme nyt mikrobiologia, joka on intohimoinen ja oma-aloitteinen mikrobiologisten prosessien kehittäjä ja haluaa työskennellä edistääkseen ympäristöystävällisiä ratkaisuja. Tehtävä on sidottu tuotekehityshankkeeseen ja tämän vuoksi on aluksi määräaikainen 30.6.2026 asti.
Tehtävän kuvaus:
Kehittää ja optimoida mikrobiologisia prosesseja
Analysoida mikrobipopulaatioita laboratoriossa ja kenttäolosuhteissa.
Testata ja kehittää uusia mikrobiologisia sovelluksia jätteiden ja teollisuuden sivuvirtojen kiertotalouden edistämiseksi.
Osallistua tutkimus- ja kehitysprojekteihin sekä analysoida ja raportoida niiden tuloksia.
Tehdä tiivistä yhteistyötä muiden asiantuntijoiden, yhteistyökumppaneiden ja asiakkaiden kanssa.
Edellytämme:
Soveltuvaa korkeakoulututkintoa (esim. mikrobiologia, biotekniikka, bio- ja ympäristötieteet).
Kokemusta mikrobiologisista analyyseista ja viljelymenetelmistä.
Kiinnostusta ja ymmärrystä teollisten ja ympäristömikrobiologisten prosessien kehittämisestä.
Kykyä työskennellä itsenäisesti ja olla osana operatiivista tiimiä.
Hyviä ongelmanratkaisukykyjä ja analyyttistä ajattelutapaa.
Sujuvaa suomen ja englannin kielen taitoa.

Market Development:

Key Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, biotechnology, or a related field is required. A Master’s or Ph.D. is preferred.
Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management in the biotechnology or life sciences industry.
Strong knowledge of protein services, protein engineering, and related biotechnologies.
Demonstrated ability to achieve and exceed sales targets.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Self-motivated, results-oriented, and capable of working independently.
Proficiency in English; additional language skills relevant to the assigned territories are a plus (e.g., Spanish, Portuguese, French, Italian, German or Nordic languages).

Uusin lehtemme on historian paksuin Solubiologi! Lehdessä on mukana muun muassa tiedeartikkelit solun muuttumisesta syöpäsoluksi ja kaljumyyrikön syöpäresistenssistä, kuukauden solubiologi Rolle Rahikainen ja Vaste Co-yrityksen esittely.
En voinut kokea mitään muuta kuin suurta ylpeyttä hienosta yhdistyksestämme, kun valmistelimme Suomen Solubiologit ry:n vuoden 2025 vuosikokouksen materiaaleja. Kokoonnuimme hiljattain hallituksen kanssa ajatushautomon kaltaiseen hetkeen, jossa pohdimme yhdistyksen nykyistä tilannetta, saatua palautetta sekä sitä, mihin toiminnassa kannattaisi mahdollisesti keskittyä ja mihin suuntaan yhdistyksemme voisi jatkossa kulkea. Vauhti on ollut huimaa, joten oli erinomainen hetki istua hetkeksi alas ja esimerkiksi kasata lukuja jäsenmäärän kehityksestämme. Olemme kaikki tiedostaneet, että meillä on ollut viime vuosina niin sanotusti hyvä pöhinä päällä ja toden totta, numerotkin sen meille osoittivat. Jäsenmäärämme on 1,7-kertaistunut vuodesta 2020 lähtien, ja vuoden 2025 aikana – siis vain tammi- ja helmikuun aikana – olemme saaneet jo enemmän uusia jäseniä kuin koko vuonna 2024.
Meidän kehityksemme näyttäisi olevan täysin päinvastainen kuin mitä yhdistyksille valtakunnallisesti kuuluu. Moni puhuu järjestö- ja yhdistystoiminnan murroksesta ja siitä, kuinka tulevaisuus herättää epävarmuutta. Myös tuorein Järjestöbarometri nostaa esiin huolia siitä, että yhdistyksiä lakkautetaan, jäsenet vähenevät ja aktiiveja on aina vain vähemmän. Yhdistystoiminnan johtamiseen liittyvissä koulutuksissa kuulee suurista yhteiskunnan rakenteellisista muutoksista, joihin kuuluvat esimerkiksi yksilöllistyminen, digitalisaatio ja omaehtoisuus, joista viimeinen liittyy uusien sukupolvien tapaan ajatella. Ihmiset ovat entistä tarkempia siitä, mihin aikaansa käyttävät, ja kilpailu huomiosta eri sosiaalisen median kanavissa on kovaa. Tästä kaikesta huolimatta olemme viime aikoina saaneet useaan otteeseen kuulla, että hallitusporukkamme tekee hyvää työtä. Mikä on nousujohteisen toimintamme salaisuus?
Digitalisaatio on pakottanut yhdistykset muuttamaan toimintatapojaan, ja monet varmasti painivat erilaisten somealustojen kanssa. Toimivasta ja tehokkaasta viestinnästä saa helposti kokopäiväisen työn, joten allekirjoitan täysin sen, että vapaaehtoistoiminnassa eri somekanavien ylläpitäminen voi tuntua todella työläältä ja haastavalta. Kuitenkin jos toimintaan halutaan mukaan uusia aktiiveja, myös nuoria, yhdistyksen täytyy viestiä ulospäin ja olla läsnä sosiaalisessa mediassa. Suomen Solubiologit ry:n on voinut löytää eri somekanavista jo monen vuoden ajan, ja se alkaa näkyä myös hallituslaisillemme. Kävimme helmikuussa ensimmäistä kertaa Oulu Bioscience Networking Event -tapahtumassa, ja vaikkemme olleet aikaisemmin käyneet Oulussa, ilahduttavan moni ständillä vieraillut tunsi yhdistyksemme entuudestaan. Uusia hallituslaisiakin on saatu nimenomaan somen ansiosta.
Jäsenet ovat yhdistystoiminnan keskiössä, ja Salla Saarisen jäsenhankintakoulutuksissa olen oppinut sen, että on ensiarvoisen tärkeää asettua kohderyhmien saappaisiin. Keitä varten toimimme ja tiedämmekö aidosti, mitkä ovat kohderyhmiemme tarpeet? Näissä asioissa meillä on vielä kehittymisen varaa, ja olemmekin ryhtyneet tarkastelemaan, millaisista jäsenistä yhdistyksemme muodostuu sekä ideoimaan, miten pystyisimme tukemaan eri uravaiheissa olevia jäseniämme yhä monipuolisemmin ja tasapainoisemmin. Toisaalta voi sanoa, että tunnemme alamme ihmisten kohtaamat haasteet ja järjestämme toimintaa, joka auttaa esimerkiksi alalle työllistymisessä. Eräs erinomainen osoitus tästä on tammi- ja helmikuussa järjestämämme kesäduuniwebinaarisarjan saama suosio. Kahteen webinaariin ilmoittautui yhteensä yli 70 ihmistä, ja ne ovat varmasti olleet syy huimaan jäsenmäärämme kasvuun tämän vuoden alussa.
Tänä vuonna on kuultu ulkoa päin myös se, että ei ole mikään itsestäänselvyys, että tämän kokoluokan yhdistys julkaisee niinkin hienoa lehteä kuin Solubiologi. Tähän voi varmasti yhtyä moni, ja lehti on ollut aina suuri ylpeyden aihe, kun olemme yhdistyksestämme eri yhteyksissä kertoneet. Solubiologi on ainoa suomenkielinen julkaisu tällä alalla, joten sitä julkaisemalla teemme osamme alamme suomenkielisen termistön kehittämisessä sekä tieteen popularisoinnissa. Ilahduttavan moni opiskelijakin on löytänyt lehtemme ja tarjonnut opinnäytetyötään siinä julkaistavaksi.
Mitä tulee toimintaan houkutteluun, ajatellaan, ettei uusia sukupolvia juurikaan kiinnosta enää itse hallituspaikka tai muu titteli. Yhteisöllisyys ja halu vaikuttaa eivät sinänsä ole silti hävinneet minnekään. Mielikuvat toiminnasta ovat ratkaisevassa roolissa, ja erilaisia päätöksiä tehdään tunteella ja fiilispohjalta: Samastunko ja haluanko kuulua tähän joukkoon, ja onko tähän panostaminen kannattavaa? Koen, että yhdistyksemme hallituksissa on ollut aina suurta yhdessä tekemisen iloa, minkä ansiosta olen itsekin ollut pitkään mukana. Uskon ja toivon, että hyvä meininki ja yhteisöllisyys näkyvät myös ulospäin, erityisesti silloin, kun kohtaamme ihmisiä erilaisissa tapahtumissa ja kerromme toiminnastamme. Positiivinen kehitys jäsenmäärissämme on voimistunut koronapandemian jälkeen, kun olemme päässeet tapaamaan ihmisiä kasvokkain eri puolilla Suomea.
Päätän pohdinnan palautteeseen, jonka kuulimme tämän vuoden puolella erääseen tapahtumaan osallistuessamme: ”Suomen Solubiologit ry:llä on potentiaalia tulla koko alan opinion leaderiksi”. Tämän näkemyksen voimin on helppo jatkaa työtä kaikkien alalla toimivien hyväksi. Kiitos kaikille mukana matkalla olleille, ja uusille tervetuloa mukaan tekemään yhdistyksestämme entistäkin vahvempaa ja vaikuttavampaa!

Doctoral Researchers in Molecular Medicine
We currently have 3 – 5 openings for doctoral researchers as part of the FIMM-EMBL International PhD Programme starting in August 2025 . In this interdisciplinary programme, outstanding doctoral researchers are recruited at the institute level in the scope of the main research areas at FIMM . Through the FIMM-EMBL rotation system, doctoral researchers engage in projects with 2–3 different research groups during a 6–9-month period prior to selecting a research group for their doctoral research. The program provides an exciting opportunity to explore and combine different research areas as well as to learn a variety of scientific skills and technologies while making connections within and beyond the institute.

SELECTION PROCESS

Upon a successful review and selection of a research group after the rotational period, the initial contract will be extended up to a 4-year period.

You contribute to disease area strategy by providing clinical insights and scientific data

You network with internal cross-functional teams and external partners to ensure successful medical value delivery
Who You Are
You have academic background in any of the following: Medical Doctor, PhD/Master’s in Pharmacy/ Biology/ Molecular/Cell Biology. Strong experience in a Medical Affairs role in the pharmaceutical industry is required
You have a robust understanding of pharmaceutical drug development, medical affairs strategies and tactics including clinical research and main medical compliance processes
You have a proven track record in a customer-centric role, with the ability to implement ideas
You are a strong teammate and networker with effective communication skills and a growth mindset
You are fluent in written and spoken Finnish & English
