Role Details

This is a fully home-based function.

The Consultant, Market Access and Value Communications, supports client engagements and internal requests, projects and business development efforts by doing the necessary research, data collection, analysis and interpretation; development of value messages, dossiers, reports and other written deliverables, modeling, educational materials; conducting stakeholder and market access research; working with programming and design; and presenting to clients as needed. Broad experience in payer value communications and pricing and market access is desirable.

The Consultant may mentor Associate and Senior Associate level colleagues on the team as well.

Content Development

  • Comprehensive knowledge of what the Value Demonstration group and Market Access Consulting as a whole, offer to their clients
  • Provide strategic, methodological, and conceptual approaches to projects according to Market Access Consulting best practice
  • Bring expertise in Pricing Reimbursement & Market Access (PRMA), payer value communication and other related specializations, with a good working knowledge of methodologies applied to payer insights and access type projects, including design and execution of landscape analyses, HTA review, stakeholder identification, primary research and similar projects. This will include expertise in development of, value dossiers and/or HTA submissions, payer value stories, payer value messages and payer value propositions, as well as demonstrable familiarity and experience in development of internal market access materials, such as toolkits and payer/ HEOR value decks
  • Good understanding of the concepts of health economics, pricing and price referencing, reimbursement and market access, including reimbursement processes for key global markets (including EU5 and US)
  • Critically review work of more junior staff from a client’s perspective and provide constructive feedback
  • Mentoring of more junior team members
  • Co-ordinate schedules and timelines for multiple staff on their team/project team, and gather input required from other teams/personnel
  • Play a key role in group resource planning and tracking

Business Development

  • Understanding of where the Value Demonstration/ Market Access Consulting work fits with the client’s strategic goals
  • A good understanding of how a Market Access Consulting team should present itself and its range of services, relative to competitors
  • Proven ability to write proposals for a wide range of projects and make useful contributions in pitch meetings
  • Be able to identify where Market Access Consulting could offer additional services to help clients reach strategic goals
  • Proven ability to follow up on leads and opportunities in order to win business for Market Access Consulting
  • Work as a team with business development directors in order to win business and advance the Market Access Consulting teams commercial interests
  • Contribute to Consulting specific account plans, taking ownership of specific actions and follow up needs

Project Management

  • Manage projects, responsible for overall quality, direction and resource use
  • Co-ordinate schedules and timelines for multiple projects
  • Mentor and coach more junior staff within project teams
  • Track project profitability and proactively flag when issues are likely to arise

Client Contact

  • Develop good working relationships with clients
  • Comprehensive understanding of client roles, taking a consultative approach to projects and client requirements
  • Offer clients proactive and strategic advice
  • Act as the primary point of contact in client engagements

Education

Requirements:

Life science undergraduate degree from a reputable university is required. Post-graduate qualifications such as MSc/MRes or PhD are preferred. Strong experience/ expertise in pricing and reimbursement, general market access, payer value communication, health economics, modeling, statistics, referencing, proofing etc.

Experience

The successful candidate will typically have several years’ prior work experience in a similar environment within a consulting practice or a health products manufacturer, with specific experience of leading client engagements, particularly those in the payer insights and access space. In addition, solid experience of general market access/ payer value communications, plus a good understanding of general health economic concepts and principles is essential.

Language

Excellent command of written and verbal English is essential, as all client deliverables will be in English and the incumbent may be required to write reports, dossiers and manuscripts to a professional standard.

Suomen Solubiologit ry järjesti pitkästä aikaa seminaarin, jota päästiin kuuntelemaan myös paikan päällä.

Itä-Suomen yliopiston biolääketieteen opiskelijoiden ainejärjestö Kulti ry:n kanssa järjestetty työelämäseminaari keräsi mukavasti opiskelijoita kuuntelemaan alalta työllistyneiden näkökulmia työelämään siirtymisestä.

Suomen Solubiologit ry:n puheenjohtaja Johanna Matilainen avaamassa tilaisuuden.

Ensimmäisenä puhujana oli Eetu Salmela (FinVector/KCT), joka kertoi HR-puolen näkökulman työnhakuun ja antoi opiskelijoille vinkkejä hakemusten suhteen. Seuraavina puhujina olivat Anu Kauppinen (professori, Itä-Suomen yliopisto), Sami Valkonen (QC planner, FinVector) ja Soile Turunen (laboratoriopäällikkö, Afekta technologies; väitöskirjatutkija, Itä-Suomen yliopisto). He jakoivat omat uratarinansa niin akateemiselta kuin yritysmaailman puolelta. Tilaisuuden päätti Stina Leskelä (mikrobiologian asiantuntija, Movet oy) omaan uratarinaansa.

To be appointed for 50-% part-time during a 4-year period (January 2023-December 2027). The appointee will mainly work for a EU-funded consortium project ENDOTARGET which will study the role of systemic endotoxemia as driver of chronic inflammation in arthritis. The ENDOTARGET project is coordinated by Helsinki Rheumatic Diseases & Inflammation Group headed by Prof. Kari Eklund at the Helsinki University Hospital.

Additional work can include related national projects coordinated by HUS Helsinki University Hospital ,with a focus in clinical biomedical science projects (Meilahti Campus). The duties of the position mainly relate to the administrative, project management and communicative aspects of projects. However, depending on the appointee’s background, responsibilities related more to the content of research are also possible.

About the position

As a project coordinator, your duties will include tasks related to project management, communication, and reporting. These include planning operations; organizing events, training and meetings; supporting collaboration among various parties; and a range of communication tasks.

Your background

You wish to work in a dynamic and international environment. You are capable of taking initiative and enjoy working independently, but also work smoothly in a group and with a range of people. The position requires experience in duties related to research and innovation projects management or funding, preferably from (consortium) projects funded by the EU. You have good interaction and communication skills and fluent level in English. Skills in other languages, including Finnish, are an asset. You also have some experience in organizing seminars, meetings or other events.

Yksikössä tuotetaan sairaala-apteekin valvonnassa radioaktiivisia lääkkeitä sairaalan omaan käyttöön. Yksikössä lisäksi kehitetään uusia radiolääkkeiden tuotantomenetelmiä sekä tehdään radiolääkkeisiin ja niiden käyttöön liittyvää tutkimusta.

Tutkijatohtori/Projektitutkija syanobakteerien tutkimukseen

Tutkimusryhmässämme on avoinna mielenkiintoinen työpaikka. Syanobakteerit ovat tärkeitä perustuottajia. Syanobakteerien solujen toiminta mukautuu ympäristön hiilidioksipitoisuuteen, mutta emme tiedä, miten ne mittaavat käytettävissä olevan hiilidioksidin määrää ja mitkä molekyylitason mekanismit säätävät eri elintoimintoja. Olemme löytäneet Synechocystis-syanobakteerista uuden signaalinsiirtoreitin, joka yhdistää kasvun ja hiilidioksidin määrän. Tutkimuksemme tarkoituksena on selvittää tämän säätelyreitin toiminta yksityiskohtaisesti.

Tehtävän sisältö

Pyrkimyksenä on (1) tunnistaa loputkin signaalisiirtoreitin osista, kuten kinaasi ja fosfataasi, (2) selvittää signaalisiirtoreitin toimintamekanismi molekyylitasolla, 3) tunnistaa signaalimolekyyli, joka viestii hiilidioksidin määrästä, ja 4) tunnistamaa solun prosesessit, joita signaalinsiirtoreitti säätelee, erityisesti keskitymme fotosynteesiin, kasvuun ja solun jakautumismekanismiin.

Hakijalta toivomme

Hakijalla on tohtorin tutkinto (tai väitöskirjatyö lähes valmis) soveltuvalta alalta. Lisäksi edellytämme erinomaisia tietoja molekyylibiologiasta ja käytännön kokomusta työskentelystä molekyylibiologian laboratoriossa. Erityisesti arvostamme kokemusta syanobakteeritutkimuksesta, ja proteiinien puhdistamisesta ja tuottamisesta. Käytännössä töihin kuuluu mahdollisten kinaasien ja fosfataasien tuottamista ja niiden aktiivisuuden testaamista. Lisäksi projektissa valmistetaan Synechocystis-mutanttikantoja, joissa mutaatioiden vaikutusta geenien ilmenemiseen, solunjakautumiseen ja fotosynteesiin tutkitaan.

Englannin kielen erinomainen osaaminen, sekä kirjallisesti että suullisesti, on välttämätöntä ja hakijan tulee esittää todistus siitä. Tehtävässä on kuuden kuukauden koeaika.

Palkkaus ja työsuhteen kesto

Työtehtävän kesto on yksi vuosi.Palkka määräytyy yliopistojen työehtosopimuksen perusteella. Tehtävä kuuluu opetus- ja tutkimushenkilökuntaan ja keskimääräinen palkka kokeneelle projektitutkijalle on noin 2600 – 2900 eur/kk ja tutkijatohtorille noin 3300 – 3400 eur/kk.

Valintakriteerimme perustuvat siihen, että löydämme tehtävään pätevimmän ja sopivimman henkilön. Käytännössä se tarkoittaa, että huomioon otetaan paitsi koulutus, tieteelliset julkaisut ja työkokemus, myös henkilökohtaiset ominaisuudet, kommunikaatio- ja motivaatiotekijät, kielitaito sekä muut tehtävän hoitamisen kannalta olennaiset tekijät.
