About the job
The postdoctoral researcher will join a multidisciplinary research group with expertise in genetic epidemiology, biostatistics, gerontology, clinical medicine, and life‑course health research. Our team investigates the biological (genetics and other omics) determinants of aging, with a particular focus on healthspan, frailty, and age‑related multimorbidity.
In this position, you will work with large-scale genomic, biomarker, and nationwide register data from Finland and other Nordic countries to uncover genetic and molecular mechanisms that shape aging trajectories. The project aims to analyze omics data (e.g., genomics, epigenomics, metabolomics, and proteomics) with Mendelian randomization and machine learning methods with longitudinal health and healthcare information to identify pathways influencing vulnerability, resilience, and health decline across the life course.

Key Responsibilities

Turun yliopiston puutiaistutkimusryhmässä (Puutiaiset ja niiden levittämät taudit Suomessa | Puutiaistutkimus) on tutkittu jo lähes viidentoista vuoden ajan kansanterveydellisesti merkittävien puutiaislajien ja taudinaiheuttajien biologiaa. Tutkimusryhmä toteutti vuonna 2015 valtakunnanlaajuisen kansalaiskeräyksen, jonka aikana ihmiset lähettivät noin 20 000 puutiaista yliopistolle tutkittavaksi. Tutkimuksen myötä saimme ensimmäistä kertaa tarkan käsityksen eri puutiaislajien ja taudinaiheuttajien esiintymisestä Suomessa. Vastaava keräys ollaan toistamassa Koneen Säätiön rahoituksella vuoden 2026 aikana. Palkattavan tutkijan työtehtävät keskittyvät pitkälti tämän kansalaiskeräyshankkeen ympärille.
Tehtävänkuvaus
Palkattava tutkija tulee ottamaan tutkimusryhmän väitöskirjatutkijan kanssa vetovastuun kansalaiskeräyksen puutiaisnäytteiden vastaanottamisesta, kirjaamisesta ja käsittelystä. Lisäksi hän tulee vetämään kansalaiskeräykseen liittyviä laboratoriotöitä. Kansalaiskeräyksen ohella tutkijan odotetaan osallistuvan myös tutkimusryhmän muihin työtehtäviin, kuten puutiaiskasvatusten ylläpitoon, maastotöihin ja opinnäytetöiden käytännön ohjaamiseen laboratoriossa. Muihin työtehtäviin saattaa liittyä koe-eläinten (hiiret) kanssa työskentelyä, joten suoritettu koe-eläinkurssi ja kokemus koe-eläinten kanssa työskentelystä katsotaan eduksi. Hakijan toimenkuvaan kuuluu suomenkielisten kirjeiden lukemista ja tulkintaa sekä työskentelyä monikansallisessa tutkimusryhmässä, joten häneltä edellytetään hyvää suullista ja kirjallista suomen ja englannin kielen taitoa.
Ennen hakemuksen määräaikaa suoritettu FM-tutkinto toimenkuvaan sopivalta alalta on vaatimus projektitutkijan tehtäviin.
Valintakriteerit perustuvat pätevimmän ja sopivimman hakijan löytämiseen, korostaen erityisesti hakijan tutkimuspotentiaalia, motivaatiota sekä henkilökohtaista soveltuvuutta tehtävään.

Palkkaus ja koeaika
Tehtävästä maksettava palkka määräytyy yliopistojen opetus- ja tutkimushenkilöstön palkkausjärjestelmän mukaisesti. Projektitutkijan palkka määräytyy vaativuustasojen 2-4 mukaisesti (2281,48- 2844,66 €/kk). Lisäksi maksetaan henkilökohtaiseen suoriutumiseen perustuvaa palkanosaa. Palkkaus aiemmasta kokemuksesta ja osaamisesta riippuen on tehtävän alussa noin 2400-2700 €/kk.
Tehtävässä noudatetaan kuuden (6) kuukauden koeaikaa.

The Hemato-oncology research group studies the molecular mechanisms underlying childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), aiming to develop novel, mechanism-based targeted therapies. Job description
We are looking for a talented and motivated postdoctoral researcher to join a project led by Prof. Olli Lohi. The project, funded by the Cancer Foundation Finland, focuses on developing targeted therapies for T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL). Our research aims to identify novel and effective combination treatments for T-ALL, enhance immunotherapies, and investigate the mechanisms of drug resistance. The work involves the use of cell lines, patient samples, zebrafish models, and a variety of cellular, molecular, and genome-wide assays.
Requirements
We are seeking a versatile and independent researcher with experience and a proven track record-such as published work or a thesis-in a wide range of cellular and molecular biology techniques, including cell culture, drug testing, CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing, and data analysis (e.g., NGS data, R software). Prior experience with leukemia research or zebrafish experimentation would be appreciated.

We are looking for a motivated and skilled Senior Scientist to join Antibody-Drug Conjugates (ADC) Target Discovery Team. The ideal candidate has strong experience in preclinical cancer research and a solid background in cell and molecular cancer biology, with exposure to bioinformatics.
Key Responsibilities
Design and execute strategies for identifying novel ADC targets using data-driven and lab-based approaches.
Run ADC targets validation
Conduct and/or coordinate experiments to assess ADC potency and safety.
Provide expert guidance in cancer biology to project teams.
Collaborate with internal teams (bioinformatics, chemistry, biology, pharmacology, clinical) to solve scientific challenges.
Propose and manage research activities with strategic partners, CROs, and academic collaborators.
Maintain detailed lab records and documentation.
Analyse experimental data and present findings in meetings.
You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to discover and validate novel cancer targets and help develop first- or best-in-class ADCs from concept to clinical candidate. Essential competences, education and way of working :
MS, or PhD in Biological Sciences, Biochemistry or closely related field with typically 10+ (MS) or 4+ (PhD) years of postdoc or industry related experience.
Strong understanding and experience of cancer biology, cell and molecular biology, and biochemistry.
Practical experience with bioinformatics and omics data (transcriptomics, proteomics, spatial data) and analysis (e.g. online tools, R or Python).
