Pääasiallisena työtehtävänäsi on laajentuvan genetiikan ja molekyylipatologian valikoimamme tuotteiden myynti, markkinointi ja tuotetuki koko Suomen alueella, sekä Baltian myyntiorganisaation tukeminen. Asiakaskuntaasi ovat mm. yliopisto- ja keskussairaaloiden laboratoriot ja osastot, yksityisen terveydenhuollon palveluntarjoajat sekä yliopistot ja tutkimuslaitokset. Lisäksi sinulla on työssäsi merkittävä rooli tuotevalikoimamme sekä asiakassuhteidemme kehittämisessä ja vahvistamisessa yhteistyössä muun organisaatiomme kanssa.

Odotamme sinulta työtehtäviin soveltuvaa koulutusta (esim. humaani- tai molekyyligenetiikan alan tutkinto) ja/tai kokemusta vastaavista työtehtävistä sekä erityisesti myyntihenkisyyttä ja halukkuutta asiakaslähtöiseen kenttätyöhön. The Finnish Hub for Development and Validation of Integrated Approaches (FHAIVE) at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Technology is looking for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow specializing in Molecular Biology. The position is full-time and will be filled for a fixed-term period of two years.

FHAIVE is a multi-disciplinary research group directed by Prof. Dario Greco, consisting of over 30 scientists. FHAIVE is a GLP accredited laboratory and is the Finnish national reference laboratory for the EURL-ECVAM validation network (NETVAL) for alternative methods to animal testing. The mission of FHAIVE is to develop and validate integrated approaches (IATA) and models for chemical safety assessment and drug development by integrating advanced in vitro techniques along with AI-based data analytics and predictive modelling.

FHAIVE focuses on advancing the fields of systems toxicology and predictive pharmacology using big data modelling, knowledge graphs, and machine learning algorithms. We have a unique combination of expertise that spans systems biology, toxicology, cheminformatics, and bioinformatics. Our vision is to merge state-of-the-art predictive toxicology and pharmacology with advanced in vitro cell culture models to address some of the major challenges arising in chemical safety assessment and drug development. Job Description

We are seeking highly motivatedpostdoctoral research fellow with a solid background in molecular biology to join our team to work on the ERC Consolidator Project ARCHIMEDES.

The Main Tasks Include

  • Developing high-throughput molecular assays to monitor epigenetic changes upon chemical and drug exposure
  • Designing and optimising high-throughput PCR and sequencing-based assays from in vitro experiments
  • Developing high-throughput experimental pipelines by using advanced pipetting robot facilities.

Highly Valued Skills Are

  • A strong background in molecular biology and epigenomics
  • Knowledge of qPCR and DNA sequencing data analysis and modelling
  • Knowledge of dose-dependent analysis
  • Knowledge of cell biology techniques
  • Knowledge of in vitro (human models) toxicology and pharmacology.

Requirements

The ideal candidate holds a PhD degree in an applicable field of molecular biology or related subject area and has demonstrated (through published articles) the required competence. Please be prepared to provide proof of your merits when requested.

Apulaisprofessori Pekka Ruusuvuori etsii väitöskirjatutkijaa tutkimusryhmäänsä Biolääketieteen laitokselle määräaikaiseen tehtävään Suomen Akatemian rahoittamaan projektiin ”Laskennallisesti vaativa histopatologisten kudosnäytteiden mallinnus generatiivisten ja ennustavien tekoälymenetelmien avulla”.

Biokuvainformatiikan tutkimusryhmä kehittää laskennallisia menetelmiä ja ratkaisuja biolääketieteen dataintensiivisiin sovelluksiin. Ryhmä on meritoitunut erityisesti tekoälyyn perustuvien diagnostisten järjestelmien tutkimuksessa digitaalipatologian sovelluksissa. Tutkimusryhmässä on vahvaa teknistä ja laskennallista osaamista, ja tutkimusta tehdään tiiviissä yhteistyössä muiden biolääketieteen asiantuntijoiden, kuten syöpätutkijoiden, patologien ja solubiologien kanssa, kuten myös teknisten alojen asiantuntijoiden kanssa niin kotimaassa kuin kansainvälisesti. Doctoral researcher in Metabolic Disease Biology starting in April 2024 for a period of 4 years.

The research group of Dr. Nahid Khan, Academy research fellow and principal investigator at Stem Cells and Metabolism Research Program (STEMM) is looking for a doctoral researcher to study Metabolic Stress Response in Mitochondrial Diseases .

PhD candidate to join the team of Dr Nahid Khan to study tissue specific metabolic stress in mitochondrial diseases. This position is funded by Research council of Finland and would be for 4 years with initial contract of two years and the trial period of six months. The project explores how different metabolic stress could contribute to tissue specific response due to mitochondrial dysfuntion. We use both IPS cell lines and mouse model for omics and imaging analysis.

We are seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and creative individuals with good teamwork skills to join our team.

The candidate should hold a Master’s degree in biotechnology, Translation medicine or other relevant fields, with keen interest in mammalian and stem cell culture, animal work and histology are considered highly beneficial. The default assumption is that the degree requirement must be met by the beginning of the employment.

The candidate would have an opportunity to learn new methods such as Crisper Cas9 gene editing, fluorescence microscopy, single cell and spatial omics. Excellent communication and writing skills in English and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary international team are essential.

Medical Science Liaison – Team Build – Oncology Immunotherapy

As part of a brand new immuno-oncology team build across the EU comprising commercial and medical heads, IQVIA’s international medical affairs team is recruiting for 6 newly created MSL positions on behalf of our client – a leading biotechnology company that invents, develops, and commercializes life-transforming medicines for people with serious diseases; their therapy areas of focus include rare diseases, infectious diseases, haematological conditions, and various cancers.

Deploying a combination of face to face and remote engagement strategies, this oncology focused team will be responsible for providing medical affairs support to HCPs and local commercial colleagues as the company expands into new European markets; covering Finland and Sweden, as the only medical head for these two countries, this position presents a great opportunity for an experienced MSL to take on a wider range of medical affairs tasks and expand their skills into another market.

Requirements:

We are looking for candidates with very specific skills and profile:

  • Must already be working in a similar pharma industry MSL post in Finland
  • Deep oncology therapy area knowledge essential, ideally within immunotherapy, melanoma, or lung cancer
  • Prior experience of working with prelaunch products would be advantageous
  • Experience of working in Sweden would be beneficial, as would Swedish language skills
  • Outstanding communication and engagement skills
  • Strong scientific background – ideally PhD, PharmD, MD or MSc
  • Eligible to work in this country full time
  • Fluency in local language and English are essential
  • Willingness to travel nationally within Finland and Sweden as required to fulfil the responsibilities of the role
  • Full driving license.

Tenure Track position in Cellular Engineering

We are looking for candidates for a tenure track position in Cellular Engineering at Aalto University, Department of Bioproducts and Biosystems. The position will be filled at the level of Assistant professor.

An increased industrial interest in biotechnological production processes leads to a demand for novel methods for efficiently engineering microbial cells. Using engineered microbial cells, a great variety of chemicals and materials can be synthesized from sustainable raw materials. The engineering of microbial cells can for example introduce synthetic metabolic pathways, modify the host cells to make production more efficient, or allow for the use of alternative substrates. The engineering of microbial cells often involves editing of their genomes and requires understanding of the molecular mechanisms of cellular processes.

The Department of Bioproducts and Biosystems forms an inspiring and supportive research environment for research in microbial engineering. We have ongoing research on bioprocess engineering that allows implementation of microbial production processes in bioreactor setups. Research on microbial physiology and biochemistry brings complementary understanding on cellular mechanisms and research methods. Also, research in enzyme technology, biomolecular materials, and biohybrid materials progress topics related to novel applications of biotechnological production for materials and chemicals. The department has a wide research agenda on the use of natural resources such as plant biomass for industrial processes. Altogether the department hosts 25 research groups working on these topics.

As an assistant professor, you will develop your independent research group and research questions in cellular engineering. Your research group will be positioned among the complementary groups working with biotechnology, bioproducts and natural resources. Other duties will include supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate students, and participating in teaching of BSc and MSc courses. Teaching will be on microbial engineering and closely related fields.

Requirements

We are looking for applicants who have:

  • a doctoral degree in biochemistry, molecular biology, chemistry, microbiology, or another related field
  • a research background supporting the topic of engineering microbial cells
  • relevant teaching experience
  • a strong publication record
  • experience in international collaborations and projects
  • documented experience in obtaining research funding
  • a strong will to develop research and teaching in their field

About The Role

Responsibilities

  • Main responsibility for this role will be to drive above-market business growth, by developing a network of contacts (eg KOLs), attract new prospective clients, develop quotes and proposals, research new market opportunities, coordinate key projects and provide reliable revenue forecast; in collaboration with Microarray Business Unit, other functions (e.g. Marketing, Sales, FSE, FAS), other businesses from Thermo Fisher Scientific and channel partners.

Skills Required

Strong sales skills: territory planning, funnel management, forecast accuracy (revenue and demand), prioritization skills. Understanding of success metrics and how metrics are measured for regional commercial team and business unit. Ability to give compelling presentations about our capabilities and value proposition with excellent communication and presentation skills

Business and domain knowledge: understanding of microarray products, workflow and applications. Ability to identify prospective opportunities in PG and PGx areas. Proven experience in conducting business in local terms and via channel partners. Driving compliance in accordance with company procedures, business needs and all applicable local and international regulations. Cultural awareness about local dynamics and behaviours.

Ability to work in a matrix and very disperse region: extensive travel, optimally network inside and outside Company’s organization, influencing skills, ability to align regional and business strategies, effectively conflict management. teamwork with others, look for synergies across businesses, encourage team spirit across organization, deal with complex logistics, adapt and act quickly.

Additional Requirements

  • Masters in Life Sciences, PhD preferred
  • Solid background in Genetics
  • Previous sales experience in life science, plus, experience with complex deals and projects
  • Fluent in English – written and spoken skills, secondary language is a plus
  • Ability to commit to up to 75% travel time
