FinVector enables employees to perform diverse and responsible tasks in a multidisciplinary environment. It is important for us to develop employees’ own skills and we offer the opportunity to influence work tasks and create one’s own career path. We are particularly comfortable with people who want to develop into top experts in their field.

FinVector is owned by Ferring Ventures and we are located in Kuopio, Finland. We currently employ over 270 experts. We operate as a production unit for both the Group’s own and external customers’ antiviral and gene therapy products.

We are looking for a knowledgeable and growing group of Technicians to our production plant for various Manufacturing operations.

For example, you may have a background as a laboratory assistant, bioanalyst, process worker, or equipment maintainer. We have four teams in production and we are seeking new reinforcements as our operations grow rapidly. During the process, the cells are infected and eventually harvested. From Upstream, the product is transferred to the Downstream team, which in turn purifies the product using chromatographic methods so that the product is finally ready to be filled into glass vials.

You will succeed in the tasks if you are precise and systematic in your work approach and you are not afraid of equipment or challenges / changing situations. We have English as a working language, so you must have a good command of oral and written English. Above all, however, we are looking for nice colleagues with a can-do attitude. We work in 2 shifts and partly also on weekends. In the future work may be done in 3-shifts.

Your employment is permanent and we would like you to start as soon as possible. We offer you active and lively work community with highly skilled and experienced personnel in gene therapy manufacturing. Working with us, you are entitled to good staff benefits, such as extensive occupational health-care and we support your physical and cultural free-time activities. We provide you wide initial training and a warm welcome. FinVector is located in vibrant Kuopio, which offers a safe living environment, friendly atmosphere and clean nature.

The Faculty provides a dynamic research surrounding and cutting-edge research infrastructure services to academics and other users in Finland and abroad. It has about 190 employees (including doctoral researchers) of which about half are from outside of Finland.

The host research team also belongs to Biocenter Oulu (

Our team focuses on structure, function and selective inhibition of proteins involved in signaling through ADP-ribosylation – a post translational modification affecting protein stability, function, and interactions in multiple cellular pathways. We develop assays suitable for high-throughput screening of inhibitors and use structural information for more rational design to develop specific inhibitors that can be used as chemical probes to study the functions of the proteins and, in some cases, to validate them as drug targets. Protein X-ray crystallography is our main tool used to understand structure-activity relationships of compounds.
