Towards this goal our R&D team will create microbial production systems for expressing egg white proteins using filamentous fungi.
Scientific project work in the fields of protein production and fungal biology
Using your expertise in molecular biology and strain engineering to create excellent fungal production strains for egg white proteins
Developing strain screening technologies and workflows for filamentous fungi
Further developing our fungal expression platforms using the newest innovations
Working with our bioprocess team to improve the strains and bioprocess conditions
Who we are looking for:
Proven, excellent laboratory skills and experience in molecular biology techniques such as DNA cloning, genome engineering, protein analysis, protein purification, and possibly genome analysis
Completed MSc or PhD in biotechnology, molecular biology, or related field.
One year or more of experience working with filamentous fungi, or possibly yeast.
Good scientific reporting skills
Good written and spoken English skills

Job Description

Quality Control team is responsible for in-process and release testing of the manufactured batches in order to prove they are acceptable for patient use. In Quality Control by analysing our products, you will ensure their quality and the patient safety. FinVector is owned by Ferring Ventures and we are located in Kuopio, Finland. We currently employ over 270 experts. We operate as a production unit for both the Group’s own and external customers’ antiviral and gene therapy products.
We are looking for a knowledgeable and growing group of Technicians to our production plant for various Manufacturing operations.
For example, you may have a background as a laboratory assistant, bioanalyst, process worker, or equipment maintainer. We have four teams in production and we are seeking new reinforcements as our operations grow rapidly. In the Buffer team, we prepare all the solutions we use in production, in the Upstream team, we start the production process with cell culture and continue by growing the cells in the bioreactors. During the process, the cells are infected and eventually harvested. From Upstream, the product is transferred to the Downstream team, which in turn purifies the product using chromatographic methods so that the product is finally ready to be filled into glass vials.
You will succeed in the tasks if you are precise and systematic in your work approach and you are not afraid of equipment or challenges / changing situations. We have English as a working language, so you must have a good command of oral and written English. Above all, however, we are looking for nice colleagues with a can-do attitude. We work in 2 shifts and partly also on weekends. In the future work may be done in 3-shifts.

TEHTÄVÄSI JA VASTUUALUEESI • Työskentelet keskeisessä roolissa osana tietyn tuotantoalueen käynnissäpidosta ja kehittämisestä vastaavaa tuotantotiimiä. • Vastaat oman alueesi tuotantolaitteiden ja -prosessien laaduntuottokyvyn ja tuottavuuden kehittämisestä. • Määrittelet, suunnittelet ja johdat tuotantolaitteisiin liittyviä kehityshankkeita. • Vastaat laitteiden ylläpitoon liittyvästä ohjeistuksesta omalla vastuualueellasi. • Valmennat ja kehität oman vastuualueesi tuotantoryhmää. • Johdat ja koordinoit vastuualueesi ongelmanratkaisutoimintaa yhteistyössä muiden asiantuntijoiden kanssa.
