HUS Helsinki University Hospital provides high quality Research Services to National and International activities, including EU funded Research and Innovation (Consortium) projects.
To this end, we are now inviting applications to the position of
EU-PROJECT manager
To be appointed for 50-% part-time during a 4-year period (January 2023-December 2027). The appointee will mainly work for a EU-funded consortium project ENDOTARGET which will study the role of systemic endotoxemia as driver of chronic inflammation in arthritis. The ENDOTARGET project is coordinated by Helsinki Rheumatic Diseases & Inflammation Group headed by Prof. Kari Eklund at the Helsinki University Hospital.
Additional work can include related national projects coordinated by HUS Helsinki University Hospital ,with a focus in clinical biomedical science projects (Meilahti Campus). The duties of the position mainly relate to the administrative, project management and communicative aspects of projects. However, depending on the appointee’s background, responsibilities related more to the content of research are also possible.
About the position
As a project coordinator, your duties will include tasks related to project management, communication, and reporting. These include planning operations; organizing events, training and meetings; supporting collaboration among various parties; and a range of communication tasks.
Your background
You wish to work in a dynamic and international environment. You are capable of taking initiative and enjoy working independently, but also work smoothly in a group and with a range of people. The position requires experience in duties related to research and innovation projects management or funding, preferably from (consortium) projects funded by the EU. You have good interaction and communication skills and fluent level in English. Skills in other languages, including Finnish, are an asset. You also have some experience in organizing seminars, meetings or other events.

The starting date is negotiable, but the latest time the appointee can take up the position is by 2nd January 2023. The reference salary (full-time) for the position will depend on the appointee’s expertise and experience, typically being in the range of €3,300 to € 3,700 per month.
This position is in hybrid-work mode. Our lab is located at Biomedicum Helsinki 1 in the Meilähti campus (Haartmaninkatu 8).
