PerkinElmer is now looking for an
Associate Product Manager
to the Reproductive Health Business Team. The position is a full-time job.
The Associate Product Manager will have overall ownership and financial responsibility for the newborn screening and prenatal screening products assigned. The products are mainly instruments and reagents but include also software. You will ensure that the product portfolio meets customer needs and explore the potential for new markets by communicating with customers. Also frequent monitoring of sales progress and making sure that sales teams are receiving necessary support is of importance.
Job responsibilities also include implementing marketing strategies, market development, providing product training, and interfacing with internal teams such as Sales, Quality, R&D, Customer Support and Operations in any matters related to the product line.
You will be reporting to Global Business Manager, Reproductive Health. The position is based in Turku, Finland and provides an exciting opportunity to work in an international business environment.
The successful candidate should have:
- Background in natural sciences (e.g. M.Sc.)
- At least 2 year’s working experience in a related field
- Excellent co-operation and communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal
- Willingness to travel globally
- Customer-focused, proactive and goal driven attitude
- Passion to grow in the role
- Preferably experience of marketing / business

A postdoctoral position is available in the lab of Osamu Shimmi at the Institute of Biotechnology, University of Helsinki. We are interested in signaling and epithelial morphogenesis in Drosophila. The aim of the postdoc project is to uncover the molecular mechanisms of cell-cell communications during dynamic processes of Drosophila wing development. The research projects include the fields of Drosophila genetics and advanced light microscopy, and they offer an interdisciplinary environment for research training. Prior knowledge in cell biology and experiences in imaging analysis and/or Drosophila genetics are considered advantageous. We are looking for an individual interested in joining our dynamic and international research community. We are a member of the Center of Excellence for Experimental and Computational Developmental Biology (2014-2019) of the Academy of Finland with a goal to obtain general principles and mechanisms that can be used to explain the development of different organs across different species.

ENDOWED PROFESSORSHIP IN DRUG ABUSE RESEARCH
Indiana University – Bloomington and The Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences seek an outstanding midcareer drug abuse and addiction researcher to fill the recently established Naus Family Chair in Psychological and Brain Sciences. The Naus Family Chair is funded through a generous gift from David Naus with a goal of improving our understanding of the neurobiology and treatment of drug addiction through fundamental and applied research. This position offers an attractive salary and start-up package, a generous annual endowment, membership in our NIDA training grant, and access to substantial core services as well as state-of-the-art human neuroimaging and animal facilities. We specifically seek a collegial individual with a record of outstanding research contributions in the field of addiction research, proven ability to secure
sustained extramural funding, expertise in state-of-the art techniques, commitment to graduate and undergraduate education, and demonstrated leadership in their chosen field. Helsingin Sanomissa tänään juttu Todde Fribergin leukemiaan sairastumisesta. Syöpäsäätiö jakaa 7 miljoonaa euroa 99 tutkijalle. Suurapurahan ovat saaneet Merja Heinäniemi Itä-Suomen yliopistosta ja Olli Lohi Tampereen yliopistollisesta sairaalasta. Heidän tutkimuksensa keskittyy genomiikan hyödyntämiseen lasten akuutin lymfaattisen leukemian hoitojen suunnittelusssa. Leukemia on lasten yleisin syöpä, johon sairastuu vuosittain 50 lasta. The seminar is taking place at meeting room Mega, Microkatu 1, Technopolis on 21st November at 10-11am.

ABSTRACT
The Finnish Red Cross Blood Service (FRCBS), a not-for-profit organization, is the nationwide blood service provider in Finland and our main task is to provide the Finnish hospitals with various blood cell products for treating patients. The FRCBS is also active in the cell therapy field and hosts the Advanced Cell Therapy Centre with its GMP facilities for the development and manufacturing of novel cell therapy products. The presentation will shed light on past and on-going cell therapy programs with specific focus on mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) from basic biology, immunomodulatory mechanisms, GMP manufacturing and clinical use.
