Postdoctoral position at the University of Freiburg, Institute of Anatomy and Cell Biology

7.11.2016 | Ajankohtaista
Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position in the project entitled: pH and function of neural cells
The position is immediately available and funded for two years with salary according to public service tariffs. In the central nervous system, rapid pH shifts occur even during neuronal activity. Our current research addresses the regulatory mechanisms of neurons and astrocytes to cope with changes of extracellular pH. Work will involve molecular and functional characterization of the mechanisms accountable for regulation of several acidbase transporters in neural cells under physiological
conditions and in response to pathologic stimuli.
The position is available from January 01, 2017 onwards. We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed candidate who holds a Ph.D. degree with strong experimental background in cell/molecular biology, or physiology. The candidate should be able to carry out independent research, as well as to collaborate in teams. Expertise in primary tissue culture, cell/molecular biological methods is required. Previous experience in working with transgenic mice is advantageous.
