Here at Avantor we are seeking for Lab Automation experts in Bio robotics to fill the role of European Lab automation Application Expert.

This is a Pan-European role and we welcome applications from all suitably-qualified candidates across Europe.

Overview


The desired candidate should be highly self-motivated to develop and implement a territorial business plan for Bio robotics customers in Academia & Pharmaceutical or Healthcare industries while working in unison with their sales colleagues in order to deliver a strong call cycle and business development activities. The foundation of this role is to develop a keen understanding of the customers’ needs to design solutions with lasting and meaningful impact.

This individual will be responsible for supporting business development and commercial strategies for robotic products as well as guiding local field personnel in the implementation of the corresponding tactics that will drive sales growth of these products. This individual should understand the Lab automation process and use this knowledge to not only drive Avantor business, but also assist in the development of sales representatives. The individual will work with both Sales Managers and individual Account Managers & Product Specialists in addressing customers challenges to create and deliver effective business development activities to grow our business.

This is the ideal role for someone with proven success in the laboratory or in the sales arena and who is ready to make a broader impact at the regional scale.

Responsibilities
• Acts as a trust advisor for the internal and external client and oversee the effectiveness of the solution offered and its competitiveness level by continuous assessment of the sales team to ensure exceptional performance of the Avantor solution offered
• Proactively manage new account acquisition, the sales funnel and maximize lead to opportunity as well as opportunity to order conversion
• Guide , coach , sell bio robotics products range
• Actively explore market potential for Lab automation of applications in a new or diverse range of subject areas
• Work with Account Managers & Product Specialist field-based and office-based specialists and Ritter manufacturing teams to create business development programs , ensure all FAS customer facing technical material is updated
• Visit/call customers daily to understand user needs and highlight Avantor’s solutions
• Build technical competency with respect to the Lab Automation landscape
• Utilize our CRM tools and applications to submit accurate and timely sales reports
• Build and sell innovative customer solutions with the local team members in order to continuously improve customer research and satisfaction
• Coordinate and participate in the customer-facing activity, such as tradeshows, conferences, and localized workdays
• Maintains effective relationships with Key Opinion Leaders in region.
• Demonstrates accurate use of products and communicates what we value.
• Conduct technical seminars and presentations at customer sites, trade shows and workshops
• Provide enhancements for development and optimization of solutions
• Participate in key customer meetings (business Review meeting) and share best practices .

Key Requirements & Skills
• Bachelor, Master, or PhD degree in scientific area such as molecular biology or biochemistry
• Strong knowledge of drug discovery, genomics, proteomics and biopharma is highly desired.
• Technical knowledge and 3/5+ practical solution selling experience with sales with pharmaceutical, biotech customers or at least proven experience as Application / Product Specialist in the Life Sciences industry . Expertise in Lab automation is an asset
• Networking skills to grow the business
• Proficient in Microsoft suite of applications experience with an ERP and CRM system, such as SAP and Athena
• Entrepreneurial mindset, goal oriented, results driven
• Previous exposure to Lab Automation highly desirable
• Collaborative teamwork across the organization
• Great interpersonal and communication skills
• Proven ability to prospect and negotiate to successfully close sales
• Highly passionate and energetic individual
• Effectively work in competitive sales situations
• Ability to maximize product exposure and raise product awareness through digital exposure (through webinars, LinkedIn,…)
• Fluent in English in speaking and writing are a must, any additional language skill is a plus.
• Travel: 60% of your time
