Indiana University School of Medicine-Stark Neurosciences Research Institute-Associate Professor or Professor position available

The Department of Psychiatry at Indiana University School of Medicine, in conjunction with the Stark Neurosciences Research Institute, is seeking to fill an immediate opening for a full-time tenure track position at the level of Associate Professor or Professor.

Candidates should possess a doctoral degree in psychology, psychiatry, neuroscience, or a related field and have established research credentials in the area of neural mechanisms underlying alcohol and/or drug addiction, including nicotine, cannabinoids, opiates or psychostimulants. Responsibilities will include: developing and sustaining an independent research program that will complement present on-going basic and translational research activities, and providing a foundation for better integration of research activities among current investigators, with the overall goal of enhancing our understanding of neurobehavioral and genetic mechanisms underlying alcohol and drug abuse and translating these findings to benefit patients.

Research space will be in the new Neurosciences Building; investigators in this building have access to state-of-the-art Core Facilities. Other responsibilities will include participation on department committees and teaching of residents, interns, medical students and graduate students.  The department and the university place a high priority on creating a diverse learning environment and on supporting the professional development of ethnic minorities, women, and people with disabilities.
