We are looking for a Medical Advisor to join a dedicated Medical Affairs team within the therapeutic area Cardiovascular-Renal-Metabolics (CVRM) in Finland.
The role
Join us at AstraZeneca’s Biopharmaceuticals Business Unit as a Medical Advisor CVRM. This role is a unique opportunity to accelerate clinical practice change both on individual and ecosystem levels through win-win-win co-creation with external experts, policy makers, and patient groups.
You will translate scientific knowledge and valuable external insights into cross-functional strategies and tactics that support business success. Together with the cross functional team you will be driving strong executional excellence to deliver results through truly understanding the unmet needs and robust account planning.
In this role, you will be responsible for implementing cross functional activity plans for our marketed products and compounds in development. You will conduct medical/scientific exchange activities with Omnichannel approach to increase comprehension of relevant clinical data and increase understanding of the development of our therapeutic areas and clinical practice among our external partners. You are expected to also challenge our approaches and for example further develop our stakeholder engagement practices. You will support the scientific programs that explore unmet medical needs in priority disease areas, and develop & conduct projects to fill the gaps and meet the needs.
Thanks to your collaborative winning mindset you will ensure seamless collaboration in the cross-functional team, alignment to the brand strategies, tactical plans, and delivery of results.
Your background
The preferred candidate holds an advanced scientific degree, for example a MD, Master´s degree in Life Sciences or equivalent or other relevant backgrounds. Previous experience from Medical Affairs is desired but not a must.
Experience & Expertise we are looking for:
- Good network of experts and clinicians in relevant therapeutic areas
- Established project management capabilities
- Proven strong influencing skills and stakeholder management
- Profound understanding of the healthcare landscape, key competitors and marketplace factors and dynamics
- Demonstrated experience with strategic planning, prioritizing, and management of high-level initiatives and projects to consistently deliver results
- Ability to coordinate people and activities effectively to achieve impactful outcomes.
- Experienced and comfortable working in a matrix environment
- A flexible, team orientated attitude, willing to contribute own skills to deliver AstraZeneca priority projects
- Pro-active curious mindset and integrity when engaging with external partners (e.g. HCPs)
- Highly driven and result oriented with validated results
- An agile approach to develop vital processes to ensure consistent results
- Ability to travel
