1.9.2026Apply by: 15 September 2026
Tampere University is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Biomedicine to join the Regulatory Genomics research group at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Technology. The full-time, two-year position is based at the Kauppi Campus in Tampere, with an expected start in late 2026 or early 2027.
The project investigates how microglial states emerge in response to neurodegenerative disease-related stressors and how these states are represented in diseased brain tissue. The research combines advanced single-cell and spatial genomics with computational inference approaches to study glial gene regulation.
Applicants should hold a doctoral degree in a relevant field such as Biomedicine, Neuroscience, Molecular and Cellular Biology, or Genomics by the start of employment. Experience supporting experimental or computational neuroscience research and/or single-cell or spatial genomics is expected. The successful candidate should be independent, research-oriented, scientifically curious, and comfortable mentoring junior researchers.
The position offers an internationally connected research environment, modern infrastructure, and career development opportunities. The typical starting salary is approximately €3,900–4,000/month.
