Postdoctoral researcher in single cell processing
from 1 November 2016 to 31 October 2018 or upon agreement
Applications are invited for a post doc position in the FIMM Technology Centre (FIMM TC). FIMM TC has state-of-the-art infrastructures for genomics, medical bioinformatics, metabolomics, high-throughput screening, biobanking, biomarker discovery and other translational research platforms. FIMM Technology Centre has started to build up functionalities for single cell capture and processing to provide single cell services for the national research community in Finland.
The primary role of the postdoctoral researcher will be establishment and development of single cell processing infrastructure and setting up single cell analysis services in close collaboration with FIMM TC NGS team and local research groups. We offer a productive and extremely collaborative work environment and excellent technical research facilities.
A successful candidate is expected to have a doctoral degree in a suitable field (biochemistry, molecular biology or other relevant field). Experience in cell culture, FACS –and nucleic acid processing techniques is required and excellent organizing and project management skills are highly valued. The candidate should be capable to work independently as well as cooperate harmoniously with other members of the team. The candidate should also be fluent in English and able to communicate efficiently in an interdisciplinary environment.
A two year contract is initially available for the position starting on 1.11.2016 (negotiable), with a possibility for extension pending on successful review. The salary will be commensurate with qualifications based on the Finnish university salary (YPJ) system.
