The University of Eastern Finland is inviting applications for a project researcher position in the EDCMET project. The position will be filled from 1.1.2023 (or as agreed) to 31.12.2023. The position is located in Kuopio, Finland. Please find more information below and submit your application no later than 18.11.2022.

Role and salary

As our new project researcher, you will be working at the A.I. Virtanen institute for Molecular Sciences at the Faculty of Health Sciences as part of the Prof. Anna-Liisa Levonen research group. The work will be done as part of the ’Metabolic effects of endocrine-disrupting chemicals: the novel testing methods and adverse outcome pathways’ (EDCMET, www.uef.fi/edcmet) project, which focuses on developing novel or improved computational and in vitro methods, such as non-cellular assays and cell culture systems, as well as standardised in vivo animal models to assess the metabolic effects of endocrine disruptors (EDs). The methods and models will be coupled with human exposure data, linking the levels of EDs with metabolic endpoints and health outcomes. The work will be done in close collaboration with scientists from several research groups within UEF as well as the EDCMET project and the EURION cluster (www.eurion-cluster.eu).

The tasks of the Project Researcher include planning and carrying out research related to EDCMET project aims, collaboration with project partners, participation and presenting research results in project meetings, participation in preparation of project-related publications and funding applications as well as supervision of MSc-level students and/or younger researchers.

The position will be filled from 1.1.2023 (or as agreed) initially until 31.12.2023 (with a possible extension of six months, depending on potential changes in project duration). The position is fixed-term due to it pertaining to a specific project.
