We are now looking for a scientist / senior scientist to join our R&D team.

In this position, you will play an essential role in developing, planning, and carrying out research projects with a project team and contribute towards our greater goal of providing nature-identical egg protein ingredients to the world at scale. Ultimately, we aim to be part of building a sustainable food system with the help of our partners throughout the world. Towards this goal our R&D team is creating microbial production systems for expressing egg white proteins using filamentous fungi.

Your primary responsibilities will be:

  • Scientific project work in the fields of protein production and molecular biology
  • Combining your expertise in molecular biology and protein engineering together with food science to ensure our product meets all the needs of the food industry, our customers and the consumers
  • Developing protein screening technologies and workflows.
  • Further developing our expression platforms using the newest innovations

Who we are looking for:

  • Proven, excellent laboratory skills and experience in molecular biology techniques such as DNA cloning, gene engineering, protein analysis, protein purification and characterisation.
  • Completed PhD in biotechnology, molecular biology, protein chemistry, or a related field.
  • Four or more years of experience working with recombinant proteins
  • Good written and spoken English skills
  • Proven ability to effectively execute and manage scientific activities: both on the bench and beyond
  • Someone with deep knowledge in the fields of protein biology and assay development
  • Industrial experience working in a biotechnology company would be a big plus
