We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and highly competent

R&D Scientist, Medical Diagnostics

who will work as an engineering expert in our biosensor team. In this role, you will be contributing to the design, validation and assessment of biosensors and assays. This is a unique and exciting opportunity to join the company where we are passionate about solving world-scale problems with nanoscale innovations. In this position, you will report to the CTO.

Responsibilities:

  • Research and development of biosensors towards commercial applications
  • Surface chemistry modification for biosensor application
  • Sourcing and implementation of appropriate biorecognition elements, e.g., antibodies or aptamers, to meet the application requirements
  • Perform /analyze testing and verification data according to regulations and standards for manufacturing processes (e.g. cGMP and GPD)
  • Manage work packages and tasks
  • Write technical reports and documents

Our expectations for you:

  • Some experience in development of electrochemical or immuno-based biosensors and assays from academia or industry.
  • Knowledge of biosensors principles, design and basic characterizations including sensor stack related materials, e.g. capillary materials and membranes
  • Knowledge of biochemistry, immunochemistry, enzyme immobilization, DNA, and RNA chemistries
  • Hands-on experience
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to learn fast and work independently at the customer interface
  • Solid problem-solving skills, customer-oriented mindset and “can do” attitude
  • Good time management and interpersonal skills
  • MSc or PhD in chemistry, material science, biochemistry, electrical engineering, or some other similar degree in relevant field
