Description of position
In this Research
assistant role your days will include hands-on laboratory work such as
pharmacological testing, biophysical characterization and preparation of
therapeutic antibodies and nucleotides (incl. binding and functional
studies), cell culture, assay set-ups and validations. You will
schedule, execute and report the experiments. You will also provide
assistance to the team when larger studies are conducted.
Description of the unit
Orion’s pharmaceutical innovations are created within its R&D
organization, including e.g. non-clinical research, clinical
development, formulation development and medical affairs. The
organization employs top professionals in the field of drug molecule
development and optimization.
The recently established
Biologics and New Modalities teams are part of our R&D organization
and they are responsible for bringing forward our increasing or
biologics and new modalities pipeline in the therapy areas Oncology, CNS
and Rare diseases. Adding the possibility to modulate the target with
either small or large molecules enables us to choose the right target
and then use the best modalities to affect the target protein in order
to create the best value for patients. To fulfill this exciting task
these teams are now recruiting additional R&D experts with a track
record of developing biopharmaceuticals. These teams have recently been
established and you have a great opportunity to be part of developing
our processes.

Requirements
To be successful in this role we hope you have hands-on experience of
laboratory work related to antibody or nucleotide engineering and
background of cell biology, immunology or biochemistry. Laboratory
working experience in pharma industry is an advantage and experience in
laboratory work using viral vectors is also considered beneficial.
Additionally we expect that you have a BSc degree in a related field
(for example biotechnology engineering or health sciences).
In
our team, it is important that you are not afraid to take
responsibilities and you enjoy helping others. You are accurate and
persistent in your work. Good communication skills in English are needed
and you work well with others. We hope you are excited of getting new
