Turku Bioscience Centre is a jointly-funded research and core facility centre of University of Turku and Åbo Akademi University. The Centre offers state-of-the-art technology platforms and expertise in the areas of genomics, proteomics, imaging as well as bioinformatics, viral vectors, genome editing, x-ray crystallography, screening, and zebra fish model system. The core facilities operate within the Biocenter Finland national infrastructure network. Its user base includes local, national and international scientists. Job Description
The successful candidate will work in the exciting area of CRISPR genome editing and viral vector gene transfer. Daily tasks will include production and purification of Lenti- , Retro-, Adeno- and Adeno-Associated Viral Vectors, DNA amplification, generation of CRISPR edited cell lines based on customer cells. Other tasks include FACS based cell sorting, DNA cloning, qPCR, BCL2 user training and general lab maintenance.
We are looking for a highly motivated person, who is able to work independently, has good self-discipline and pays attention to details.
A primary degree (M.Sc. or B.Sc.) is required in cell and molecular biology, virology or any bioscience related field.
The exact salary will be defined when writing the employment contract. The salary is in accordance with the university salary system (for general staff) level 7, where the work specific salary component is 2281,18 € per month. In addition, there is a share increase based on the personal performance, which is at most 50 % of the base salary. There will be a trial period of 6 months.
