Senior Researcher, Turku – Spatial Omics & Head of Research in Bioscience (Permanent)

The University of Turku and Turku Bioscience Centre are seeking a Senior Researcher to lead the development and integration of spatial omics technologies within their core research facilities. This permanent, full-time role is based in Turku, Finland, and focuses on establishing combined workflows across transcriptomics, proteomics, multiplex immunohistochemistry, metabolomics, and other spatial methods.
The position encompasses both scientific and strategic responsibilities: developing and optimizing spatial omics pipelines from sample preparation through analysis, advising and consulting with researchers across disciplines, and contributing to collaborative projects. The Senior Researcher will also play a pivotal role in shaping the unit’s technological strategy and ensuring that cutting-edge methodologies are adopted to address complex biological questions.
Applicants should hold a PhD in biosciences or a related field with a proven track record in omics technologies, excellent communication skills in English, and experience working in international, multidisciplinary environments. Project management ability and a systematic approach to work are valued.
