21.8.2017Two postdoctoral fellow positions are available at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, Department of Neuroscience, in New York.
1) Studies of epigenetic mechanisms of chronic pain.
The project involves the use of advanced transgenic mouse models, biochemical and genomic methods, for the study of brain region-specific adaptations associated with nociceptive sensitization and/or chronic pain induced mood disorders. Applicants must have a PhD degree in the Neuroscience or Molecular Biology. Experience in molecular biology/biochemistry is highly preferred. Other desired skills include experience in mouse behavior, small animal surgery or electrophysiology.

2) Studies on addiction vulnerability under chronic pain states.
The project involves the use of transgenic mouse models, live imaging and brain biochemistry to understand the mechanisms underlying the actions of opioids under chronic pain states. Experience in small animal surgery and mouse behavior is highly preferred.
