Senior Scientist Enzyme Analytics
Located in Rajamäki, Finland
The Role
As Senior Scientist Enzyme Analytics, you will be part of an exciting international R&D and business environment, working with cutting edge technologies and a broad portfolio of diverse projects. This is a challenging senior position with a high level of independence, the opportunity for development, and an attractive compensation package. You will:
- Play a key role in building our enzyme analytics infrastructure across locations.
- Drive the harmonization of analytical practices and proactively contribute to trouble-shooting and continuous improvement.
- Perform high-precision enzyme activity measurements on a large variety of enzyme classes and using a broad spectrum of analytical techniques (e.g., colorimetry, titrimetry, viscosimetry)
- Develop enzyme activity assays for various purposes – from Quality Control to high(er)-throughout screening, with special focus on Tecan Fluent robotics methods.
- Introduce and test methods newly developed in the Enzyme Technology team and train colleagues from other functions to use them; supporting other functions (R&D, QC, Application Development) in enzyme analytics.
- Report directly to the Head of Enzyme Technology and as such have the opportunity to actively shape the discipline.
- Manage complex cross-functional projects and initiatives; true team player, leading by example
- You will be based in Finland and will interface with global R&D teams located in Finland and in Germany, with Quality Control as well as other disciplines (Application Development, Business).
About you
As an ideal candidate, you have:
- A scientific education and degree (Masters or PhD) and a proven track record in biochemistry, enzymology, analytical chemistry, or equivalent.
- Clear experience in the field of enzyme analytics and quality control, ideally through prior work in the industry
- Experience with complex equipment (e.g., Tecan Fluent robotics system, Gallery/Arena, etc.)
- Experience in enzyme kinetics and the development of analytical methods
- A hands-on attitude combined with a passion for high-quality results and problem solving
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and capabilities, fluent in English and Finnish; written and spoken.
- The ability to regularly travel to Darmstadt, Germany
