The application deadline is 1 March 2026.

University of Helsinki invites applications for multiple postdoctoral and PhD student roles within its HiLIFE Institute of Biotechnology focused on metabolic aging and stem cell biology. The positions are embedded in research groups led by Dr. Jette Lengefeld and Dr. Nahid Khan and involve projects supported by Novo Nordisk funding. Research will explore metabolic dysfunction during aging, using mouse models, multi-omics approaches (metabolomics, transcriptomics), flow cytometry, and cell/tissue analysis to unravel mechanisms that drive age-related decline and potential rejuvenation strategies.

Postdoctoral roles require a PhD in hematology, molecular biology, aging biology, metabolism or related fields, strong expertise in stem cell research, and experience with mice; additional skills like immunology, metabolomics, transcriptomics and histology are advantageous. PhD candidates should hold a master’s degree in molecular/biological sciences with hands-on laboratory experience and strong analytical skills.

Positions are full-time, initially 2 years (postdoc) and 4 years (PhD) with possible extension. A 6-month trial period applies, and salaries follow the university’s research staff scheme. The application deadline is 1 March 2026.
