The Laboratory for Particles-Biology Interactions pioneers innovative particle-based solutions for personalized healthcare applications to meet the growing needs of our society. We are a highly motivated team of biologists and chemists with core competences in cell- and molecular biology, material science and chemistry. To enforce our team we are looking for a:
Tenure-track Group leader in the area of NGS, proteomics and bioinformatics
Your tasks:
– you lead with competent scientific and entrepreneurial guidance a team of scientists, Postdocs, PhDs and technicians and you actively collaborate with other Empa units, partner institutions and industrial partners in an interdisciplinary field
– you initiate and combine the new ’omics’-technologies with material research to provide new impulses in precision health care solutions
– your team achieves international recognition in the field of personalized health and related technologies
– you successfully present your results in scientific journals and at international conferences
Your profile:
– scientific excellence and being an independent researcher
– experience in leading a scientific group
– PhD degree in biochemistry, chemistry, life science, bioinformatics or physics
– excellent knowledge and expertise in NGS, proteomics and bioinformatics
– creative, curious and interdisciplinary
– successful in project acquisition (SNF, InnoSwiss or similar)
– experienced in project management and writing scientific publications
