Nordic Nano Group designs and manufactures advanced solar energy harvesting and energy storage solutions using innovative nanomaterials and precision screen-printing technologies. Role Overview:
The Laboratory Lead – Senior Chemist will manage laboratory and pre-production operations in a new clean-energy manufacturing facility. The position involves implementing and optimizing nanomaterial and screen-printing processes, overseeing R&D activities, and ensuring high-quality output during the ramp-up toward full production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead daily laboratory operations and support pre-production ramp-up.
- Install, test, and refine nanomaterial screen-printing systems.
- Plan and manage R&D projects and pilot-scale trials.
- Implement quality control protocols to ensure product reliability.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and cross-functional teams to meet deadlines.
- Provide technical expertise on nanomaterials and screen-printing processes.
- Troubleshoot production challenges and propose innovative solutions.
- Document workflows, monitor lab performance, and drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Degree in chemistry, materials science, chemical engineering, nanotechnology, or related field.
- 3–5 years’ experience in laboratory, manufacturing, or process development environments.
- Understanding of cost-effective manufacturing and quality standards.
- Proven project management and multitasking skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Fluent in English; proficiency in Finnish or German is an asset.
Preferred Skills:
- Deep understanding of nanomaterials, especially carbon nanotube (CNT) technologies, their properties, and processing in screen-printing applications.
- Academic credentials in materials science, chemistry, chemical engineering, nanotechnology, or related fields.
- Proven experience in lab and pre-production environments within nanomaterials or screen-printing industries.
- Demonstrated leadership or mentoring experience in lab or technical teams.
