You are our scientific ambassador to the healthcare community
As our new Medical Advisor, oncology, you develop and extend our network among national scientific leaders and medical professionals throughout Finland. You engage in scientific exchange to bridge science to clinical practice aiming to improve patient outcomes and access. Driven by science, you will engage in knowledge-sharing activities with scientific leaders and key decision makers to close data gaps and provide solutions to the unmet medical needs of patients. At the same time, you establish a trustful and productive long-term engagement between our company and the local health care community. You pride yourself in proactively driving medical affairs projects and have a mindset of co-ownership of our scientific and medical aspects important to the entire company.
Internally, you collaborate with your colleagues in understanding clinical practice within your responsible therapy areas in Finland and work on developing medical strategies that will lead to better patient outcomes in our country.
You take an active part in turning your insights into action that will deepen our understanding of the health care sector and scientific landscape. This includes collaborating with the clinical research department in identifying potential clinical trials and mapping the clinical landscape in Finland.
As you can see, your tasks as Medical Advisor are many and varied. They include
- Scientific exchange for knowledge-sharing and gathering insights for unmet medical needs
- Active participation in forming our therapy area medical strategies and tactics based on your external insights
- Real World Evidence generation exploring data gaps
- Providing medical education to key stakeholders in the health care sector
- Attending and contributing to national scientific events and international conferences
- Participating in cross-functional activities
- Ensuring 100% compliance with all applicable SOPs, rules, and regulations
You understand science – and people
You have a strong scientific background within oncology/hematology, or biomedical sciences. Prior experience with medical affairs as a Medical Science Liaison, Medical Advisor or an equivalent position is valuable but not a requirement. Having a PhD or MD degree is a requirement.
You have a strong focus on patients’ and stakeholders’ needs. Being a team player and an excellent communicator are prerequisites for success in this position.
Combining a strong head for science with business acumen, you can convert the scientific insights into a clear direction when forming medical strategies internally. Impactful communication skills with various stakeholders are crucial to your success. You are goal-oriented and have a desire to reach results while observing the high ethical standards our company is known and respected for.
As a person, you have the flexibility to adapt and succeed in a rapidly changing environment, and your people skills are equally impressive. You can work independently with little supervision but still be a team player. You are open-minded, yet you know when and how to speak your mind and get your point across in a way that makes colleagues and external stakeholders appreciate your expertise, and high ethical standard. Approximately 30 % of your time will be spent travelling.
