Multiple postdoctoral research fellow positions in chronic pain and addiction in the Hohmann lab at Indiana University
8.1.2019The Hohmann laboratory in the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences and Gill Center for Biomolecular Science at Indiana University is seeking multiple postdoctoral research fellows to work at the interface between drug addiction and chronic pain. We are investigating the impact of cannabinoids, including functionally biased cannabinoid CB2 agonists, on opioid reward using drug self-administration, in vivo voltammetry and conditioned place preference. The impact of the same treatments on opioid-induced respiratory depression is also assessed using whole body plethysmography. The Hohmann laboratory is funded by the National Institute on Drug Abuse, the National Cancer Institute, the Indiana Clinical Translational Sciences Institute and, most recently, by Indiana’s Addiction Grand Challenge Initiative.
Qualified candidates should have a Ph.D. in neuroscience, pharmacology, biological psychology or related fields. Experience with drug self-administration and/or in vivo voltammetry is strongly encouraged. The successful candidate should be interested in combining pathological pain models and classic approaches from drug abuse. The laboratory is highly collaborative with other outstanding neuroscience laboratories at Indiana University. The Hohmann laboratory consists of a dynamic group of postdoctoral fellows, graduate students, undergraduate researchers and a laboratory technician.
Interested candidates should forward their CVs and names of three references to:
