Position-Parameters: Tenure-track, 12-month position.
Duties: The successful candidate will be engaged in professional scholarship and research and have up to-date knowledge regarding their own area of expertise. They are expected to develop an active research program that attracts sustained extramural funding in their area of expertise. Their area of interest should involve neuropharmacology and addiction. It is expected that the new faculty member will contribute to and help develop new effective active learning modalities associated with the therapeutics sequence in the professional program, especially in the area of the neurological sciences. The therapeutic sequence integrates the practice of pharmacy in specific disease areas with the underlying pharmacology, medicinal chemistry, and drug mechanism of action at a molecular, cellular, and whole organism level. Integration of the basic sciences with pharmacy practice is expected in areas of research, education, and service.
Required Qualifications
An earned doctorate or other terminal degree in Pharmacology with at least three years of postdoctoral experience is required for appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor. Evidence of national and international recognition; a record of sustainable extramural funding and evidence of excellence in education are required for appointment at the rank of Associate or Full Professor. A pharmacy undergraduate degree and/or experience in pharmacy education/teaching will be preferable; the successful candidate will be a dynamic individual with demonstrated records of excellence in teaching and scholarship, and a commitment to excellence in pharmacy education and research.
Must be able to perform all essential job duties as outlined in the job description.
