The group of Henri Huttunen and Riikka-Liisa Uronen is seeking a motivated postdoctoral researcher for an in vivo Alzheimer’s disease project at the University of Helsinki Neuroscience

Project and responsibilities
This Academy of Finland funded project involves studying the role of a novel vasoactive peptide in Alzheimer’s disease. The successful candidate will study the development of neuropathology
in both transgenic mouse lines, as well as virally infected animals. She/he will perform histology and molecular biology analysis of the animals. He/she will also supervise Master’s/ PhD students,
prepare and publish scientific manuscripts and write grant applications.
Qualifications
A successful candidate holds a PhD in life sciences. Experience and qualification in working with rodent models is obligatory. In addition, experience in histology and biochemistry are essential.
Knowledge on neuroscience and neurodegenerative diseases will be advantageous. Salary will be based on the Universities salary scheme for teaching and research personnel.
A successful candidate is expected to start in January 2017, or according to agreement.
