Post doc position at the Department of Biosciences, University of Helsinki, Finland
3.7.2017Post doc position is available at the Laboratory of Neurotherapeutics located at the Department of Biosciences, Division of Physiology and Neuroscience, University of Helsinki. The research group investigates the underlying neurobiological mechanisms and predictive (bio)markers of rapid-acting antidepressants using in vivo pharmacological tools, biological screenings (e.g. quantitative phosphoproteomics), pharmaco-EEG (electroencephalogram) and behavioural tests.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated person with a PhD in neuroscience, pharmacology or molecular neurobiology. The candidate must be able to perform basic neurobiological, pharmacological (in vivo) and behavioral methods and animal surgeries. Previous experience with in vivo EEG recordings, animal behavior, and curriculum of education in laboratory animal science are considered very beneficial. The successful candidate should also have strong communication skills in English and be well organized. Selected candidate will also supervise undergraduate and graduate students in the lab. Salary will be based on the University salary system for teaching and research personnel, and composed of both task related and personal performance components. The position will be initially for 1 year but could be potentially extended. The position will start 1st September 2017.
