About This Role
This is a part-time limited contract position in the Human Genetics group that will support the R&D organization to optimally leverage a large-scale biobank initiative that Biogen is investing in, FinnGen (www.finngen.fi). You will report to the Sr Medical Director, Statistical Genetics.
What You’ll Do
- Educate/train employees on resources and tools available in FinnGen and how to best access/utilize them.
- Support the Biogen Human Genetics group with targeted look-ups in (green and red sandbox) FinnGen data (e.g. to support drug target assessments in Human Molecular Reviews).
- Act as an interface to FinBB for ensuring the success of Biogen FinnGen spin-off studies.
- Advise the Biogen Human Genetics group on how to best organize and communicate internal/external human datasets.
Who You Are
You have a strong experience in either industry or academic research settings. You know how to apply your knowledge to train people on resources and tools and how to best access/utilize them. As a person you take ownership of commitments and goals.
Qualifications
Required Skills
- Minimum M.Sc. with 7+ years of work experience in either industry or academic research settings.
- Deeply embedded in generating software and/or algorithms to leverage human genetic and/or biobank data.
- Understanding of the drug target discovery process.
- Worked with FinnGen individual-level human data.
