Biopankkitoiminnan kehittäminen ja tutkimus- ja kehitystoiminnassa tarvittavien näytteiden saatavuuden parantaminen ovat osa Veripalvelun strategiaa. Avaamme uusia tutkimusmahdollisuuksia Veripalvelun biopankin terveiden henkilöiden näytteiden ja tiedon avulla.

Suomessa toimii tällä hetkellä kymmenen biopankkia, joista kaksi toimii Veripalvelussa: Hematologinen biopankki, jonka omistavat Helsingin yliopisto, Suomen Hematologiyhdistys ja Veripalvelu, sekä Veripalvelun Biopankki, joka on erikoistunut verensiirtolääketieteen erityiskysymyksiin sekä luovuttajan että potilaan näkökulmasta. Veripalvelun biopankissa on 55 000 jäsentä ja sen erityispiirteenä on yli 40 000 biopankkisuostumuksen antanutta verenluovuttajaa, joiden antamista näytteistä genomitason variaatio ja HLA-alleelit on määritetty. Säännöllisesti luovuttavilta verenluovuttajilta pyydetään myös lupaa toistuvien näytteiden, muun muassa elävien pakastettujen verisolujen keräämiseen. Näitä tietoja ja näytteitä käytetään suostumusten mukaisesti sekä Veripalvelun johtamissa että muissa merkittävissä tutkimusprojekteissa.

Biopankit ovat biolääketieteellistä tutkimusta tukevia alustoja, joihin kerätään biopankkisuostumuksen antaneiden henkilöiden näytteitä ja tietoja tulevaa tutkimusta varten. Biopankit toimivat biopankkilain säädösten mukaisesti ja ovat viranomaisvalvonnan alaisia.

Tehtäväsi

Keskeisiä tehtäviäsi ovat:

• Kehität biopankkitoimintaa ja tutkimus- sekä tuotekehitysnäytteiden käsittelyä Veripalvelun strategian ja biopankkilain sekä muun lainsäädännön mukaisesti
• Vastaat toimintasuunnitelmasta ja talousarviosta
• Toimit Biopankki ja näytepalvelutoiminnon henkilöstön esihenkilönä
• Vastaat Veripalvelun biopankin kehittämisestä ja toiminnasta lainsäädännön mukaisena vastuuhenkilönä
• Osallistut Hematologisen biopankin johtoryhmätoimintaan ja vastaan operatiivisesta toiminnasta Veripalvelussa
• Huolehdit näyte- ja aineistopyyntöjen käsittelystä ja asiakasprosessien kehittämisestä
• Huolehdit säilytettävien näytteiden laadunvalvonnasta, rekisterien ja tietokantojen ylläpitämisestä, yhdistämisestä ja suojaamisesta
• Kehität tutkimus- ja kehitystoiminnassa tarvittavien näytteiden tarjontaa
• Osallistut sidosryhmäyhteistyöhön.

Teet työtäsi yhdessä osaavan tiimisi kanssa. Raportoit laadunhallinta, tutkimus- ja tuotekehitys vastuualueen johtajalle.

Tehtävä on toistaiseksi voimassa oleva ja aloitus tapahtuu sopimuksen mukaisesti, kuitenkin viimeistään maaliskuussa 2023.

Osaamisesi

Odotamme hakijalta tehtävään soveltuvaa ylempää korkeakoulututkintoa, sekä valmiuksia ohjata ja kehittää biopankkitoimintaa. Edellytämme kokemusta biopankkitoiminnasta ja toiminnasta viranomaisten säätelemässä toimintaympäristössä. Arvostamme soveltuvaa tohtorintutkintoa sekä kiinnostusta isojen tietomäärien käsittelyyn, kokemusta tutkimustoiminnasta ja tutkimusrahoituksen sekä kansainvälisen biopankkitoimintaympäristön tuntemusta.

Tehtävän hoitaminen vaatii hyviä vuorovaikutustaitoja, monipuolisia teknisiä valmiuksia ja vahvaa englannin kielen taitoa. Aiempi kokemus esihenkilötyöstä katsotaan eduksesi.

We are involved in European Commission funded Horizon 2020 projects SABYDOMA (https://www.sabydoma.eu/), NanoSolveIT (https://nanosolveit.eu/), HARMLESS (https://www.harmless-project.eu/) and PrecisionTox (https://precisiontox.org/) in which we carry out cell-line-based toxicity assessment utilizing high throughput screening and high content imaging approaches as well as omics analysis.

We are looking for someone who has a background in cell culture work, imaging, data analysis and scientific writing. The work will include (covid permitting) travelling to project meetings.

You would mainly be involved in the PrecisionTox project where our role is to screen 250 human lymphoblast cell lines for toxicity and gene expression differences caused by genetic variability of the cell lines as well as evaluation of causal links between biomarkers and toxic effects predictive of adversity utilising siRNA technology. Most, if not all, of the assays will be carried out in 384-well plate format, so experience using them would be beneficial.

About the project: Healthy cartilage functions in an environment with low oxygen levels (normoxia) and changes in oxygen sensing have been associated with osteoarthritis. This project aims to clarify hypoxia signaling in cartilage with varying mechanical loading and oxygen pressures. Ultimately our research aims to identify potential therapeutic molecules that can prevent cartilage degeneration and osteoarthritis.

• Assist the assigned QPPV team in relation to various tasks, meetings and deliverables in relation to specific allocated projects.

Qualifications

What we’re looking for

• BA/BSc. in life sciences, Registered Nurse (RN), pharmacist or equivalent combination of education and experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience that gives the individual the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job
• Exposure to and knowledge of QPPV related activities
• Very structured and detail-oriented with an excellent ability to keep the overview of complex projects.
• Excellent communication skills including written and verbal communication.
• Excellent understanding of post-marketing safety requirements, ICH GCP, GVP and regulations related to Safety and Pharmacovigilance.

Haemme Jyväskylän yliopiston Liikuntatieteelliseen tiedekuntaan 

TUTKIJATOHTORIA, Liikunta- ja terveystutkimuksen systeemibiologia, kolmen vuoden määräaikaiseen työsuhteeseen alkaen 2.1.2023 tai sopimuksen mukaan

Tässä tehtävässä työskentelet tutkijatohtorina Suomen Akatemian rahoittamassa molekylääriseen liikunta- ja verisuonibiologiaan liittyvässä hankkeessa, jota johtaa apulaisprofessori Riikka Kivelä. Tutkimusryhmän tavoitteena on selvittää liikunnan terveyshyötyjen molekyylimekanismeja uusien hoitojen löytämiseksi kardiometabolisiin sairauksiin, keskittyen ennen kaikkea verisuoniston rooliin eri kudoksissa. Tehtävänäsi on suunnitella ja toteuttaa tutkimussuunnitelmaan perustuvia tutkimuksia ja vastata kudosnäytteiden bioinformatiikka- ja systeemibiologisista analyyseistä sekä mahdollisesti molekyylibiologisista määrityksistä. Tutkijatohtorin tehtävä voi sisältää lisäksi opetusta sekä projektin hallintoon liittyviä tehtäviä (maksimissaan 10% työajasta). Tehtävä mahdollistaa omien tutkimusintressien mukaisen kehittymisen.

Edellytykset

Hakijalta edellytetään tohtorin tutkintoa biotieteiden, biolääketieteen, liikuntatieteen tai bioinformatiikan alalta tai juuri valmistumassa olevaa tutkintoa. Kokemus bioinformatiikka-analyyseistä ja/tai yksisolusekvensoinnista katsotaan hakijan eduksi. Molekyylibiologisten analyysien ja kuvantamisen hallinta sekä soluviljely- ja/tai eläinkoeosaaminen edesauttaa tehtävän hoitamisessa. Eduksi katsomme myös taustan sydän- ja verisuoni- tai lihasbiologian osaamisesta.

Tutkijatohtorin tehtävistä, kelpoisuusvaatimuksista ja kielitaidosta määrätään yliopiston johtosäännössä ja kielitaito-ohjeistuksissa. Yliopiston opetus- ja tutkimustehtävään otettavalta vaaditaan, että hän hallitsee suomen kielen. Yliopisto voi tarvittaessa myöntää erivapauden kielitaitovaatimuksista. Tehtävässä edellytetään erinomaista englannin kielen hallintaa.

Turun yliopiston Suomen Akatemian rahoittama lippulaivahanke InFLAMES: Immuunijärjestelmän innovaatiokeskus lääketieteen ja talouskasvun moottorina (https://inflames.utu.fi/en/) etsii data-analyysin ja bioinformatiikan asiantuntijaa bioinformatikkatiimiinsä. InFLAMES-lippulaivahanke on Turun yliopiston ja Åbo Akademin yhteinen ja sen tavoite on olla kansainvälisesti tunnettu huipputason immunologisen tutkimuksen ja kehityksen keskus, jonka on tarkoitus olla houkutteleva yhteistyökumppani kotimaisille ja kansainvälisille huippututkijoille ja yrityksille. Ihanteellinen hakija on ammattitaitoinen datatieteilijä, jolla on joko maisteri- tai tohtoritutkinto, vahvaa tietoteknistä ja analyyttistä osaamista, ja kiinnostus auttaa biologian ja lääketieteen tutkijoita analysoimaan ainutlaatuisia laajamittaisia aineistoja. Tehtävässä työskennellään tiiviissä yhteistyössä InFLAMES-lippulaivan tutkijoiden kanssa seuraavilla aloilla: biolääketiede, genomiikka, immunologia ja bioinformatiikka.

Tehtävä tarjoaa näköalapaikan nopeasti kehittyvällä immuno-omiikkatutkimuksen ja -analytiikan alueella. Tehtävässä on monipuoliset mahdollisuudet oppia ja tulla asiantuntijaksi alalla, jonka vaatimukset kasvavat datatieteilijöille jatkuvasti. InFLAMES-lippulaiva tarjoaa ainutlaatuisen ympäristön työskennellä ja verkostoitua molekyylibiologien, tietojenkäsittelytieteiden, lääkäreiden ja insinöörien kanssa sekä akateemisessa ympäristössä että teollisuudessa. Edellytykset

• Maisterin- tai tohtorintutkinto tietojenkäsittelytieteessä, tietotekniikassa, bioinformatiikassa, biomatematiikassa, biostatistiikassa tai muulta soveltuvalta alalta
• Erinomaiset vuorovaikutustaidot englannin kielellä ja vahvat projektinhallinta- ja raportointitaidot
  • Kokemus laajojen omiikka-aineistojen erilaisista bioinformatiikan analysointityökaluista
  • Hyvät ohjelmointitaidot (esim. Python, R) ja kyky työskennellä versionhallintatyökalujen (esim. Git) kanssa

Palkka

Tehtäväkohtainen palkkaus määräytyy yliopistojen palkkausjärjestelmän opetus- ja tutkimushenkilöstön vaativuustasokartan mukaisesti. Maisteritutkinnon suorittanut palkataan projektitutkijan nimikkeellä, jolloin palkka on vaativuustason 4 mukainen, n. 2780-3120 eur/kuukausi. Tohtoritutkinnon suorittanut palkataan erikoistutkijan nimikkeellä, vaativuustason 5-7 mukaisesti. Tällöin palkka on n. 3220 – 4860 eur/kuukausi kokemuksesta riippuen.

Sopimuksen kesto

Tehtävään valitun toivotaan aloittavan 1.12.2022, mutta aloitusajankohta on neuvoteltavissa. Tehtävä on määräaikainen ja päättyy 31.12.2024, mutta on mahdollista, että tehtävä jatkuu pidempään. Tehtävässä on kuuden (6) kuukauden koeaika.

Viran/tehtävän kuvaus

Akatemia tarjoaa vuosittain tieteestä ja tutkimusrahoituksesta kiinnostuneille yliopisto-opiskelijoille näköalapaikan suomalaiseen tutkimukseen.

Harjoittelijoita haetaan Tutkimusympäristöjen vastuualueelle (2 henkilöä) ja kahdelle tutkimuksen vastuualueelle: Biotieteiden, terveyden ja ympäristön tutkimus (BTY 2 henkilöä) ja Luonnontieteiden ja tekniikan tutkimus (LT 2 henkilöä).

Harjoittelujakso sisältää erilaisia ja monipuolisia avustavia tehtäviä. Tutkimuksen vastuualueiden (BTY ja LT) tehtäviin sisältyy tutkimusrahoitushakuun liittyviä tehtäviä, kuten osallistumista hakemusten käsittelyyn ja niiden arvioinnin järjestämiseen sekä muita vastuualueen tiede- ja tutkimusrahoituksen selvitystehtäviä. Tutkimusympäristöjen vastuualueella harjoittelijat tekevät selvitystehtäviä, jotka sisältävät tiedonhakua, arviointi- ja kyselymateriaalin keräystä, analysointia ja tiedon visualisointia. Lisäksi harjoittelu sisältää tilaisuuksien ja kokousten järjestämistä ja niissä avustamista sekä viestintätehtäviä.

Hakijalta odotamme

Parhaimmat edellytykset tehtävien hoitamiseen antavat loppuvaiheessa olevat yliopisto-opinnot, hyvä suomen kielen suullinen ja kirjallinen taito, vahva englannin kielen taito sekä keskeisten toimisto-ohjelmien hallitseminen (erityisesti Excel-taidot ja muut MS Office -ohjelmat). Hakijoilta odotetaan valmiutta hybridityöhön ja kokemusta hybridityössä tarvittavien työvälineiden käytöstä (kuten Teams). Hakijoilta toivotaan taitoa tiedon analysointiin, tiivistämiseen ja yleistajuiseen esittämiseen sekä yleisempien viestintävälineiden käyttämiseen. Lisäksi odotetaan huolellisuutta ja kykyä oman työn organisoimiseen.

Suomen Akatemia painottaa toiminnassaan tasa-arvoa ja yhdenvertaisuutta. Toivomme hakemuksia eri sukupuolia olevilta sekä kieli-, kulttuuri- ja muihin vähemmistöihin kuuluvilta opiskelijoilta.

Harjoittelupaikka voidaan myöntää ainoastaan opiskelijalle. Hakemuksesta tulee ilmetä, kuinka pitkällä hakijan opinnot ovat suhteessa valmistumiseen.

Palkkaukseen liittyvät tiedot

Palkka: 1500 eur/kk Yliopistolta saatava harjoitteluraha on toivottava, mutta ei välttämätön. Mikäli osa palkasta katetaan yliopiston harjoittelurahalla, Akatemia maksaa harjoittelurahan ja harjoittelijan bruttopalkan (1500 eur/kk) välisen erotuksen.
