We are looking for a proactive, self-driven result orientated team player for a Laboratory Technician role for a fixed-term position for 6 months. What will you do?

You will conduct the lab work and data analysis according to study plans, and reporting results to R&D Supervisor and local R&D team.

How will you get here?

  • Laboratory technician/Polytechnic/B.Sc. level degree or similar in biosciences or biotechnology or related field (e.g. microbiology, biochemistry, molecular biology, engineering discipline)
  • >1 years relevant research experience
  • Capable of interpreting data and draw conclusions on it
  • Knowledge of molecular techniques and methods including but not restricted to:
    • PCR
    • Lysis and DNA extraction reagents/methods
    • Basics of microbiology methods e.g. bacteria enrichment and cultivation
  • General understanding in scientific instrumentation and various software applications related to molecular biology

Tehtävän kuvaus

Haemme farmaseuttista asiantuntijaa Development Pharmacist -tehtävään tuotantorajapintaan noin vuoden mittaiseen määräaikaiseen tehtävään, ensisijaisesti Turkuun.

Toimit farmaseuttisena asiantuntijana, jonka erityisosaamisalueena on tabletti- ja kapselivalmisteet. Vastuullasi on mm. uusien tuotteiden valmistusprosessien kehittämistä tuotantoympäristöön, tuotteiden teknologian siirtoja, valmistusprosessien jatkokehittämistä sekä muita tuotehuoltotehtäviä tuotannon rajapinnassa. Toimit farmaseuttisena asiantuntijana muun muassa seuraavissa:

  • Nimetyissä tuote- tai toiminnan kehittämiseen liittyvissä projekteissa, mitkä voivat liittyä mm. uusien tuotteiden loppuvaiheen kehittämiseen tuotantoympäristöön, valmistusprosessien teknologian siirtoihin tai muuhun valmistusprosessien kehittämiseen

Teet tiivistä päivittäistä yhteistyötä tuotannon, laadunvalvonnan, laadunvarmistuksen, tekniikan, R&D:n ja oman yksikkösi asiantuntijoiden sekä ulkoisten yhteistyökumppanien kanssa.

Yksikön kuvaus

Commercial Product Development & Lifecycle Management (CPD&LCM) organisaation vastuulla on huolehtia Orionin portfolioon sisältyvien tuotteiden tuotehuollosta, kilpailukyvystä ja jatkokehityksestä. Vastaamme myös lääkevalmisteiden teknologian siirrosta ja Orionin alkuperätuotteiden teollistamisesta sekä toimitusketjun projektiportfolioiden hallinnasta.

Avoimena oleva tehtävä on tablettiryhmässä, jossa työskentelee yhteensä noin 40 henkilöä Espoossa, Turussa ja Kuopiossa.

Antibiotic Resistance is rapidly increasing worldwide. Preceding resistance is antibiotic tolerance, i.e., the ability of bacteria to survive antibiotics in the absence of resistance. This project investigates bacterial, multi-gene expression programs of antibiotic tolerance.

We combine experimental techniques (RNA-seq, flow cytometry, microscopy, synthetic biology, etc.) with Bioinformatics (RNA-seq, DNA sequence analysis) and Biophysics methods (stochastic and analytical models of gene expression, etc.).

Job Description

To conduct this multidisciplinary project, we are looking for students with background in Cell and Molecular Biology / Microbiology / Biotechnology , or equivalent, as well as for students with background in Biophysics / Bioinformatics / Signal Processing / Biomedical Engineering , or equivalent.

The student will collaborate, among other, with research teams in Boston U.S.A., and Tampere, specialized in Synthetic and Molecular Biology and teams conducting clinical trials.

We offer a one year postdoctoral position within our Protein and Antibody Engineering unit in Turku, Finland. We are seeking a research driven scientist interested in combining multispecifc antibody design with high throughput assay development.

Our team is responsible for not only developing contemporary biologic-based therapeutics but also developing next generation modalities such as multispecific antibodies. What will you do?

The primary purpose of this position is to provide technical pre- and post-sales support for all nucleic acid products supporting RNA and oligonucleotide therapeutics. Support will be provided to Thermo Fisher Scientifics’ customers and Account Managers in all facets of their selling activities. The Field Applications Scientist will perform product capabilities seminars, troubleshooting and training sessions with end customers and sales reps. This role will also handle customization requests and confirm technical product requirements of functionality to drive sales confirming and conveying unique customer requirements.

Your Responsibilities

  • Provide expert product, application and consultation to customers and sales
  • Perform successful in depth product capabilities discussions to drive sales results
  • Provide technical troubleshooting and conduct trainings for customers and Thermo Fisher employees
  • Contribute to product protocols with customer’s unique process needs in mind
  • Participate and instruct in customer workshops and schedule/run product seminars

How will you get here?

Your profile

  • BA/BS in the life sciences (Masters or PhD preferred)
  • A minimum of five years in a research or process development environment, with at least two years working with nuclei acid modalities such as but not limited to mRNA, siRNA, saRNA, etc.High level of computer proficiency with troubleshooting knowledge
  • Experience in a customer-facing support role
  • Teaching or training experience, providing training and advice on how to use raw materials, equipment and techniques for in-vitro transcription to solve scientific questions
  • Familiarity with drug development; therapeutic life cycle from scale up thru commercialization, highly valued

We are looking for an excellent Postdoctoral Candidate to work in the field of rheumatic diseases in a HORIZON-EUROPE Consortium.

The position will be at the Helsinki University, Faculty of Medicine, research program unit TRIMM, Helsinki Rheumatic Diseases and Inflammation Research Group led by Professor Kari Eklund. We are located at Meilahti Campus. You will be part of multidisciplinary team in 4-year HORIZON-EUROPE Consortium project composed of top leading universities in Europe starting in January 2023.

HORIZON-EUROPE Consortium ENDOTARGET project, the main aim is to explore the relationship between gut microbiota, intestinal permeability, and systemic endotoxemia (SE). Further we aim to understand their role as drivers of disease onset and disease activity in osteoarthritis (OA), rheumatoid arthritis (RA), and spondylarthritis (SpA). as well as targets of preventive and therapeutic approaches. We will study the events leading to disease onset by taking advantage of geographically diverse large cohorts of people with available blood and feces samples with extended follow up times before and after the onset of the diseases of interest.

Your main research objectives/activities, with emphasis on computational analysis of quantitative data, will include: (1) To explore the role of intestinal permeability in development of systemic endotoxemia (SE) and in the risk of RA, SpA, and OA.; (2) To discover novel biomarkers and proteomic profiles for intestinal dysbiosis, SE, and RA, SpA and OA; (3) To characterize the inflammatory and metabolic effects of diverse gut-derived LPS/bacteria on cells of the synovial joint; (4) Quantification and structural characterization of LPS in serum and synovial fluid of RA and OA patients

The ideal candidate has a PhD degree in a life science-related computational or epidemiological field. The ideal applicant should have strong computational skills with experience of biomarker epidemiology, and genomic and proteomics applications. Proficiency in at least one common statistical programming language (e.g. R or Python) is required. Experience in prediction model development is a strong merit. If you have not received your PhD degree graduated yet, you should obtain your PhD degree during the Spring 2023. The earliest anticipated starting date is 15th April 2023 and applicants being able to start the project earlier may have an advantage in the selection process.
