You understand science – and people
You have a strong scientific background within oncology/hematology, or biomedical sciences. Prior experience with medical affairs as a Medical Science Liaison, Medical Advisor or an equivalent position is valuable but not a requirement. Having a PhD or MD degree is a requirement.
You have a strong focus on patients’ and stakeholders’ needs. Being a team player and an excellent communicator are prerequisites for success in this position.
Combining a strong head for science with business acumen, you can convert the scientific insights into a clear direction when forming medical strategies internally. Impactful communication skills with various stakeholders are crucial to your success. Antibiotic Resistance is rapidly increasing worldwide. Preceding resistance is antibiotic tolerance, i.e., the ability of bacteria to survive antibiotics in the absence of resistance. This project investigates bacterial, multi-gene expression programs of antibiotic tolerance.
We combine experimental techniques (RNA-seq, flow cytometry, microscopy, synthetic biology, etc.) with Bioinformatics (RNA-seq, DNA sequence analysis) and Biophysics methods (stochastic and analytical models of gene expression, etc.).

We offer a one year postdoctoral position within our Protein and Antibody Engineering unit in Turku, Finland. We are seeking a research driven scientist interested in combining multispecifc antibody design with high throughput assay development.
Our team is responsible for not only developing contemporary biologic-based therapeutics but also developing next generation modalities such as multispecific antibodies. Your key responsibilities would be developing high throughput screening assays using our mammalian display platform in order to facilitate multispecific antibody discovery and maturation.

Description Of Unit
The Protein and Antibody Engineering Unit work within Orion’s Medicinal Design to create and optimize biologic based therapeutics. We support numerous programs that are intended for clinical use while also exploring and developing modalities that address current limitations in drug design. The Protein and Antibody Engineering Unit consists of highly experienced scientists drawn from around the world with a common goal of designing better drugs to lessen disease impact.

Requirements
To succeed in this role you have:
A PhD in a field using molecular biology
Experience in semi to high throughput molecular techniques
Experience in cell culture
Ideally you have an understanding of antibody structure and function along with knowledge of display technologies. It is more important, however, that you are capable and eager to learn and are comfortable with new ideas and concepts in a project that will shift and change as data is generated. Field Application Scientist in the Europe.
The primary purpose of this position is to provide technical pre- and post-sales support for all nucleic acid products supporting RNA and oligonucleotide therapeutics. Support will be provided to Thermo Fisher Scientifics’ customers and Account Managers in all facets of their selling activities. The Field Applications Scientist will perform product capabilities seminars, troubleshooting and training sessions with end customers and sales reps. Your Responsibilities
Provide expert product, application and consultation to customers and sales

Your profile
BA/BS in the life sciences (Masters or PhD preferred)
Minimum 2 years in a research or process development environment, regularly working with on nucleic acid modalities such as but not limited to mRNA, siRNA, saRNA, etc.
High level of computer proficiency with troubleshooting knowledge
Experience in a customer-facing support role
Teaching or training experience, providing training and advice on how to use raw materials, equipment and techniques for in-vitro transcription to solve scientific questions
Familiarity with drug development; therapeutic life cycle from scale up thru commercialization, highly valued
Travel: Up to 50% overnight travel

Job Description
Your task will be to develop and apply statistical modelling and machine learning methods on research question in nutrition, food sustainability and different diseases. The data used for the research are modern large, high dimensional with complex structures, such as population, purchase, patient and omics data sets. The topic of the PhD research will be defined jointly between the doctoral student and supervisors.
The workplace is located at Kauppi Campus, Tampere University and the work is mainly done at the office.
In addition to the doctoral dissertation, the duties of a doctoral researcher may include participation in education or other faculty tasks that support your studies. These tasks may not exceed 5% of the total working time.
Requirements
Master’s degree in statistics, bioinformatics, computational biology or other field suitable for the position

The doctoral researcher position will be filled from at the beginning of May 2023 or as mutually agreed. The position is a fixed-term period of 12 months with a possibility of extension.
