Role and salary
An Early Stage Researcher position is available in the Molecular Physiology research group at the A.I. Virtanen Institute for molecular sciences, University of Eastern Finland, Kuopio, Finland. The Molecular Physiology research group has a longstanding interest in the comprehensive understanding of cell physiology and cellular dysfunction in excitable cells, including muscle and heart.
We are seeking a highly motivated Early Stage Researcher for a project in which bioengineered human iPS-cells based cardiac tissues are used to identify clinically relevant genetic, metabolic, and physiological mechanisms of human diseases.
The position requires a strong track record in working in field and laboratory environments studying biomedicine or other related topics. This includes also mastering various measurement and analysis techniques, especially those related to physiology, genetics, and biochemistry.
The position enables the researcher to take part in supervising Bachelor and Master’s students, scientific writing, grant applications, scientific collaborations and teaching in suitable areas.
The position is filled for a two-year term from 1 May 2022 (or as agreed) to 30 April 2024. Positions of Early Stage Researchers shall always be filled for a fixed term. The position will be filled for a fixed term due to it pertaining to a specific project. A probationary period is applied to all new members of the staff.
The salary of the position is determined in accordance with the salary system of Finnish universities and is based on 2 – 4 of the job requirement level chart for teaching and research staff (2,078.27 – 2,591.28 euros/month). In addition to the job requirement component, the salary includes a personal performance component, which can be a minimum of 6 % and a maximum of 50 % of the job requirement component. Depending on the job requirement component and the personal performance component, the salary will be approximately 2,286 – 3,138 euros/month at the beginning of the employment relationship.

Experience in stem cell work and cell physiological experiments, practical experience in standard biochemistry and molecular biology laboratory work as well as basic knowledge of microscopic techniques,

As our new Senior Researcher, you will be working in the School of Pharmacy, at the Faculty of Health Sciences as a member of the DrugTech research community. The position is located in Kuopio, Finland.
As the scientist-in-charge, you will organize and develop the functions of the protein production laboratory. You should be able to express, purify and characterize recombinant proteins. It would be advantagenous if you had skills in stability evaluation, conjugation and formulation as necessary for pharmaceutical proteins. Tehtävä ja palkkaus
Kansallisen neurokeskuksen palvelupäällikön tehtävässä työskentelet lääketieteen laitoksella, kliinisen lääketieteen yksikössä Kuopion kampuksella. Laitos kuuluu terveystieteiden tiedekuntaan.
Kansallisen neurokeskuksen tarkoituksena on edistää neurotieteiden kansallista ja kansainvälistä tutkimusyhteistyötä ja siten edesauttaa aivoterveyden edistämiseen sekä aivosairauksien diagnostiikkaan, hoitoon ja kuntoutukseen liittyvien innovaatioiden syntymistä. Tavoitteena on parempi aivoterveys ja aivosairauksien aiheuttamien kustannusten merkittävä vähentäminen Suomessa, entistäkin korkeatasoisempi ja vaikuttavampi tieteellinen tutkimus sekä uudet innovaatiot ja niiden menestyksellinen kaupallistaminen.
Kansallisen neurokeskuksen koordinoiva yksikkö toimii Itä-Suomen yliopiston terveystieteiden tiedekunnan alaisuudessa. Palvelupäällikkö toimii johtajan sijaisena ja edustaa Kansallista Neurokeskusta kansallisissa ja kansainvälisissä verkostoissa. Hän tekee neurotieteiden tutkimuksen edunajamistyötä sekä vaikuttamistyötä suhteessa päättäjiin, viranomaisiin ja tiedeyhteisöön.
Tehtävä täytetään 1.4.2022 alkaen (tai sopimuksen mukaan) kolmen vuoden määräajaksi. Määräaikaisuuden perusteena on Kansallisen Neurokeskuksen toiminnan vakiinnuttaminen. Uuden työntekijän tullessa tehtävään käytetään koeaikaa.
Tehtävän palkkaus määräytyy yliopistojen muun henkilöstön palkkausjärjestelmän mukaisesti. Palkka koostuu tehtäväkohtaisesta palkanosasta ja henkilökohtaiseen suoriutumiseen perustuvasta palkanosasta. Tässä tehtävässä tehtäväkohtainen palkanosa on vaativuustasoluokittelussa tasoilla 9-10. Lisäksi maksetaan henkilökohtaiseen suoriutumiseen perustuvaa palkanosaa, joka on 6–50 % tehtäväkohtaisesta palkanosasta. Vaativuustasosta ja henkilökohtaisesta palkanosasta riippuen palkka työsuhteen alkaessa on noin 3660 – 4223 €/kk.

HUS Diagnostiikkakeskus on Suomen johtava kliinisten laboratorio- ja kuvantamispalvelujen tuottaja. HUS Diagnostiikkakeskuksen pääasiallinen toiminta-alue on HUS-kuntayhtymän erikoissairaanhoito ja HUSiin kuuluvien kuntien perusterveydenhuolto sekä Kymenlaakson sosiaali- ja terveyspalvelujen kuntayhtymän (Kymsote) ja Etelä-Karjalan sosiaali- ja terveyspiirin (Eksote) alueen laboratorio- ja kuvantamistoiminta. HUS Diagnostiikkakeskuksessa työskentelee noin 4000 laboratorio- ja kuvantamisalan asiantuntijaa ja toimintaa on yli 170 toimipisteessä.
HUSLAB Genetiikan laboratorio on nopeasti kasvava diagnostisia genetiikan laboratoriotutkimuksia tarjoava laboratorio. Laboratorion tutkimusvalikoima kattaa laajasti sekä perittyjen että somaattisten muutosten tutkimuksia ja toiminta on voimakkaasti siirtymässä genomin laajuisiin tutkimuksiin. Laboratoriossa voi siten saada monipuolisen ja vahvan koulutuksen ja ammattitaidon sairaalageneetikon tehtäviin.
Haettavana oleva sairaalageneetikon koulutustoimi tähtää asetuksessa (564/94) tarkoitettuun sairaalageneetikon pätevyyteen. Toimi täytetään erikoistumiskoulutuksen edellyttämäksi ajaksi. Hakemukseen tulee liittää selvitys omasta sairaalageneetikon koulutuksen vaiheesta (hyväksytyistä kliinisen ja teoreettisen koulutuksen suorituksista tai suunnitelma koulutukseen hakeutumisesta, mikäli hakija ei ole vielä koulutusohjelmassa) erillisenä liitteenä. As Technical Support Specialist, you will have a key role in supporting our Cascadion™ SM Clinical Analyzer and global field based specialist team. You will work with technically advanced instruments in an innovative and international working environment by providing service, training, technical expertise and troubleshooting support. This is an ideal role for either an experienced Engineer or Technical Specialist who has previously worked with Liquid Chromatography or Mass Spectrometry instruments and applications, OR a Scientist with expertise in LC-MS. Lääkealan turvallisuus- ja kehittämiskeskus Fimea on sosiaali- ja terveysministeriön alainen virasto, joka valvoo lääkkeitä, lääkinnällisiä laitteita, veri- ja kudostuotteita, biopankkeja sekä kehittää lääkealaa. Fimealaisena pääset mukaan tekemään vaikuttavaa työtä väestön terveyden edistämiseksi.
Tehtävän kuvaus
Haemme useampaa farmasian tai muun soveltuvan luonnontieteellisen alan korkeakouluopiskelijaa harjoittelijaksi Regulatoriset prosessit- ja Eläinlääkeyksikön Helsingin ja Kuopion toimipisteisiin. Valittavan henkilön tulee olla opiskelija.
Korkeakouluharjoittelija pääsee tiimin jäsenenä tutustumaan mielenkiintoiseen ja tärkeään myyntilupatyöhön viranomaispuolella. Tarjolla on harjoittelupaikkoja hakemusten koordinoinnin sekä hakemusten esikäsittelyn parissa. Hakemusten koordinoinnin jaostoissa harjoittelijan tehtäviin kuuluvat avustavat tehtävät ihmislääkkeiden myyntilupiin liittyvien hakemusten käsittelyssä. Hakemusten esikäsittelyn jaostossa korkeakouluharjoittelijan tehtävänä ovat avustavat tehtävät ihmislääkkeiden myyntilupien hakemussyötössä. Eläinlääkeyksikössä tehtävät voivat olla sekä hakemusten käsittelyä että hakemussyöttöä.

Tehtävä alkaa: 1.6.2022 tai sopimuksen mukaan. Harjoittelun kesto on 3 kk. Etsitään myös harjoittelijaa, joka voisi aloittaa harjoittelun mahdollisimman pian. Tällöin harjoittelun kesto olisi 3-6 kk. Määräaikainen, päättyy: 31.8.2022 tai sopimuksen mukaan.

Miten pääset työssäsi vaikuttamaan?
Haemme Joensuun toimipisteeseemme kesätyöntekijöitä laadunvalvojiksi n. 3 kuukauden määräaikaisiin työsuhteisiin (toukokuu-elokuu). Työ on kolmivuorotyötä.
Laadunvalvojan vastuulla on tuotannon puolivalmisteiden/ lopputuotteiden kokoonpano, laadunvalvonta, pakkaaminen, jälkikäsittely sekä varastointi.
Mitä tulet tekemään?
Puolivalmisteiden/ lopputuotteiden kokoonpano, laadunvalvonta, pakkaaminen sekä jälkikäsittely voimassa olevan ohjeistuksen/ standardien mukaisesti

PhD position is open in a project focusing on understanding the molecular mechanisms related to health-beneficial effect of plant-based foods such as whole grain products, and the role of gut microbiota in this interaction. The project involves analytics with liquid chromatography – mass spectrometry metabolomics applications conducted on various different samples matrices originating from human dietary intervention trials as well as animal feeding trials with plant-based foods. An essential component of the PhD project is the establishment of cell culture methods to assess the molecular level impact of various food/microbiota derived compounds on cellular metabolic pathways and general biochemical response. The expectation of competence 1) MSc degree in Chemistry, Food Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field. 2) Previous research experience and knowledge The successful candidate should have earlier experience on mass spectrometry analyses, as well as bioassays measuring e.g. inflammatory responses. Earlier experience on establishing and working on cell culture assays is regarded as benefit. Good spoken and written English is required for the position. Period of employment and salary levels
The employment period will be for four years including a trial period of 6 months. The salary is determined by the collective agreement system of Finnish universities. The position belongs to our research personnel and the salary will be 2300 – 2700 eur/month in average. Our selection criteria is based on the principle of finding the most qualified and suitable candidate for the work. In practice, this means that not only education and working experience but also personal qualities, motivation factors, language skills and other relevant criteria will be taken into account.
